About Me
Aussie storyteller finding friends around the world
About me:
☕️ Coffee lover
🧗♂️ (Aspiring) Boulderer
🤓 Nerdy about tech, science, and art
😌 Good listener
💫 Adventurous
Fundamentally, I’m easygoing and open-minded, you live your life and I’ll live mine! I’m non-judgemental about things. Personally though, I’m a “nerdy jock” - prone to physical activity and deep discussions, kinda like Yukio Mishima but without the nationalism
That makes me sound too serious though, day-to-day - I’m mostly laughing about and doing fun stuff,
I’d say most of my life revolves around stories, hearing them and making them. Personally and professionally, it’s why I love this app,
My career has taken me from high-end labs using bioprinting to advance cancer research to the back alleys of Melbourne to record young jazz musicians.
I worked in film, then in venture capital, and now I do freelance writing.
I love meeting and connecting with people ☺️ - I’m a sucker for learning about other cultures, good conversation, and making memories.
I also make podcasts, spend lots of time in nature, and I may or may not be at a live music concert right now.
Art, aesthetics, and good taste are important to me. There’s great joy in meeting originals.
For me, Couchsurfing is about being a good house guest, making friends, and learning from each other
P.S. I’m not interested in using this app for sex 🙃
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm travelling the world and searching for good stories 😌
I’m also trying to find somewhere to live! Once I find that place, I’ll head back to Australia, get a working visa, and move over 🎉

Music, Movies, and Books
I’m a fan of live music! The first film I directed was about Melbourne’s jazz scene 😄
‘The Single Petal of a Rose’ by Duke Ellington is my favourite song of all time and my best live music story is about the magical reappearing shoe 👟
Into lots of different music, classic rock, indie, math rock, jazz, classical, midwestern emo, hip-hop, Afro, and more.
I also love anime, books, and film. My favourite shows are cowboy bebop, ping pong the animation, and neon genesis evangelion. Some of my favourite books are Sputnik Sweetheart (which is inspiring a trip to 🇬🇷) and Nietzsche’s works. To my mind, the most underrated film ever is Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story. A more conventional movie recommendation I have though is Whiplash 🥁
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Within two weeks of arriving in London I'd:
- Got a whirlwind tour of the city from a billionaire
- Got a news article written about me
- Met a tiktok star and possibly Rick Rubin?
Update:
- I’ve free climbed a cliff in Greece, then got chased down the side of it by a herd of goats
- I went wild camping on the tallest mountain of a Scottish island
- Managed to get a free whisky lesson and tasting session from a bartender because of Murakami
- Hopped rooftops through San Francisco - tearing my pants doing a Slavic dance on the same night
- Bantered my way into being invited to a party at a tech millionaires ranch
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you how to avoid snakes and spiders in Australia 😆 and if you’re looking for random facts and stories about topics that range from food waste infrastructure to the history of Belgian Jews then I’ve got you covered.
I’m keen to learn about dance, martial arts, and about why you live where you live 😌
I can share an open ear and an open heart - I’m so excited to meet you ☺️
