About Me

Born into a life of nomadic privilege, I've lived in three distinct cultures (Canadian, Hong Kong, and Chinese) and have been exposed to many others through my international links. Social activist for many things - environment, refugees, trafficking, democracy & more. I'll eat tear gas for the ideas that I believe in.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Currently couchsurfing (the oldschool way) to reconnect with old friends throughout West Coast Canada, England, and Hong Kong for the summer. Figured it would be cool to meet some new ones through this too :)

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Jazz, Neo-Soul, and RnB. But I listen to a bit of everything :) If you're a fan of Snarky Puppy or Kings Kaleidoscope we'll get along great :)

Movies: Anything directed by Edgar Wright and Wes Anderson. Absolutely beautiful cinematography.

The last book I read: Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell - a delightfully meandering novel about the return of practical magic in England in the 1800s. I love books and please do recommend me some!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Helping students from refugee backgrounds resettle in Canada through a wonderful NGO called WUSC. Realizing these amazing international links and responsibilities in a very real way through coordinating my local UVic chapter was an amazing thing.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: Little travel tips about the various places I've been. Some cool little tricks that I've picked up from playing music for most of my life (harmony, rhythm).

Learn: Food! I love learning how to cook new things.

Share: Stories and experiences of being involved in NGOs, multinational jewelry businesses, and the good moments in life.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am a passable musician and photographer, with a passion for the creative - but what I really enjoy is hearing your stories and getting to know you!

I travel light with a lot of space in my bag so some gifts from my previous destination may end up in your hands :)
