About Me
Hello beautiful couchsurfers, my name is Mike and I'm a Masters' student at Imperial College London! I'm originally from the Somerset, the cider capital of the UK and the home of Glastonbury festival! I'm a very laid-back person and enjoy meeting new people of all different cultures and backgrounds!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
As part of my degree I was extremely fortunate to live in Singapore for 6 months. I found this to be a great experience to live in a different country and culture. But one thing that made my time there so great was the chance to mix with people from all over the world, it really was so much fun and I made friends for life. Also during my time there I was able to visit some neighbouring countries! I would say in each place I visited there was one local person that would go out of their way to show you their favourite place to eat or relax so if I can impart some of my local London knowledge (although limited but is improving) that would be alot of fun!
Interests
First and foremost I am a very active person, I cycle pretty much every day and play regular football. London really has a lot to offer in terms of nightlife and music events so also like to make the most of that!! I enjoy stand up comedy and here in London you can find some great (and free) comedy nights which is great fun. As I mentioned I am quite an active person and enjoy swimming, I am PADI qualified and would love to get back into some diving although my mother country isn't the best place for it!

Music, Movies, and Books
If I were to choose a type of music night to go to it would be funk n soul (bit of a closet chic fame to be honest). I'm not going to reel off all the films I have enjoyed but my favourite film as a kid was Aladdin - I watched it so much my sister is named Jasmine!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One of the most amazing experiences I have had - was trekking through the sumatran jungle in Indonesia. The wildlife and scenery was beautiful and as we arrived at our camp a wild orangutan and her baby came to meet us. We spent an hour playing with them - an great experience.
What I Can Share with Hosts
A laugh - I'm very laid-back and as I said I really enjoy comedy shows. I know some great nights in London. Also, I think if you are visiting a city on foot you should do as much on foot as you can - you find things you would never see if you spent half the day underground. So if I hosted you I'd definitely do the walking tour! Oh and of course I would treat you to a roast dinner and a full english breakfast.
