About Me

I'm house trained, great with kids, and non-aggressive with other dogs and humans. I'm very low maintenance, and due to my time in the military, I don't much need anything fancy-- just the basics of shelter and a shower. I'm financially secure and if I break anything in your house, I'll pay for it. Golden Rule, right?

Anywho, I'm a chill dude. Happy to talk and conversate, and happy to keep quiet and stay busy in my own world. If any of you guys have tips on couch surfing, feel free to drop me a line!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I finished my degree in Oklahoma mostly out of convenience and the social ties I made after exiting my military career at Tinker Air Force Base. In truth, I've always felt pulled to head back to the Pacific Northwest, where I once lived in Eagle Point, Oregon, so I'd like to visit and understand the local cultures of places like Portland, Oregon, and Seattle, Washington, before I make my next big move and continue my career in IT.

Music, Movies, and Books

Perhaps the band I've listened to the longest is Tool, along with Maynard James Keenan's other pet projects.

I dig the funkadelic soulful neo-Motown sound of Fitz and the Tantrums.

Florence and The Machine is my guilty pleasure band when I'm singing in the shower.

My favorite movies/media are Requiem For a Dream, Snatch, Event Horizon, Fight Club, World of Tomorrow, Groundhog Day, The Usual Suspects, stuff like that. More recently, I'm a huge fan of Rick and Morty, Game of Thrones, House of Cards, and South Park.

For books, I've been a longstanding fan of Vonnegut and Chuck Palahniuk.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I was 21 years old, I was sent from my Navy aviation squadron to the island of Guam (Anderson AFB), as the only IT guy for an entire air wing (collection of squadrons). I collaborated with the existing Air Force IT guys for the structure of the network, but as far as bringing up our own servers, computers, printers, etc... That was all on me!

AND I DID IT! I got a shiny medal for it, too.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Improvisational Comedy techniques, which are often applicable in everyday interactions as well as public speaking.

Basic IT troubleshooting and safety, private communications and encryption, that sort of stuff.
