About Me

I love nature, mathematics, trains, and technology. I plan on dedicating my life to the use of applied statistics in solving sustainability issues. I founded and led the root project, which involved building an energy waste mitigation device that saves users' time, money, and the environment.

I love everything outdoorsy, and hope to see a maximum amount of the world throughout my lifespan. I am an expert in fire making and snowboarding. I am training myself to become an expert in backpacking and biking.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My life goal is to maximize the amount of perspective I get from travels, people and other novel experiences. I recently got back from a trip to British Columbia, which I was able to afford because of Couchsurfing. I met wonderful people who share my interests and were very generous. I hope to pay back the favor by hosting other surfers, and to continue meeting people through surfing myself.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music has changed my life for the better so I love it all. Particularly a fan of classic rock (Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Beatles, etc.) and alternative (Modest Mouse, MGMT, Red Hot Chili Peppers, etc.) Have also always also loved classical (Dvorak, Bach, Vivaldi, etc). Recently have begun to venture into the realm of rap/hiphop (Biggie, Snoop, Kanye, etc) and chiller electronic (Odesza, Ratatat, Kygo, etc.)

I love reading (pretty much anything.)
Steve Jobs and Elon Musk's biographies are fascinating and inspiring.
Catcher and The Rye captures my thoughts about why I want to move NYC --> out west.
Into the Wild is one hell of an inspiring story. Walden provides a highly refreshing and illuminating perspective on the nature of society. I seriously believe that nature provides a monumental amount of clarity on the state of society and reality.
1984 and Brave New World are stunningly prophetic of technology in the present.
Also of noteworthy influence: Anything by Kurt Vonnegut, The Future of Mind, Frankenstein, A Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich, Lord of The Rings, and Harry Potter

Forrest Gump's the favorite movie, although I must admit I haven't yet delved as deep into movies as I want to.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Currently traveling NYC --> Vancouver and back (via Chicago, Denver, Salt Lake, San Fran, Portland, Seattle) on an Amtrak rail pass!

Teach, Learn, Share

I am the biggest fan of atypical ideas. Eager to share, eager to hear.
