Overview
About Me
Between 2015 and 2019, I led a nomadic life, which means I was constantly on the move. At first I visited many European countries, later I concentrated on Asia. Between 2018 and 2025, I lived in Hong Kong with my boyfriend.
Please note: I'm gay and only have a one-bedroom apartment. Therefore, I only want to accommodate men who are gay themselves or who don't have any issues with my sexuality.
Those who know me say that I am a calm, honest, reliable and flexible person. I consider myself someone who likes to laugh a lot. I love nature, and I'm especially drawn to water. I feel more than I think. My life is colorful and sometimes a bit playful.
Sankt Augustin isn't the center of the world, but rather a quiet place, even village-like in some corners. But it's a good place to enjoy nature, hike, and admire views of the Rhine Valley. Thanks to its good public transport connections, you can also quickly reach the hustle and bustle of Cologne, Bonn, and Düsseldorf.
I was already a Couchsurfing member from around 2014, but then canceled my account because I was living in Hong Kong from then on. Below are my references from that time:

Confirmed stay – Would host Michael (Dan) again
He is a very gentle, intelligent, and open-minded person. I hosted him for 3 nights, we cooked at home, and he insisted on cleaning. He also invited me for dinner. I am glad that he has a happy retirement life, enjoys traveling, meeting people, and sharing experiences. I am looking forward to meeting him again next year.
Peter Dongen, Amsterdam, Noord-Holland, Netherlands, Dec 2018, 2 nights
Confirmed stay – Would host Michael (Dan) again
Michael is only traveling! I admire that, probably because I couldn't. So many stories. On top of that, he will take care of you. He bought the groceries, cooked and did the dishes. He also gave me a quite perfect massage.
What more can a host ask for. Easy going person and I guess he can adapt to any situation.
Thanks for everything.

Confirmed Stay – Would host Michael (Dan) as a guest again
Michael, what a big surprise on Couchsurfing to me! He has a real CS spirit and a young passionate soul. It was a pity I could only host him for two nights, but during his stay, he made me see the reasons I hosted. I enjoyed strolling around the city center with him, he has a good taste in architecture. I especially like to share some ideas with him, also listen to his experiences and thoughts. One evening, he cooked an incredibly amazing German dinner on the flat, we all had a great time, a great gathering. Michael is honest, decent, knowledgable, talkative, cooperative, caring and trustworthy. I highly recommend him in this community.
I hope to see you somewhere soon, take care of my friend.

Michael is a very nice and easy guest to have. He's independent, well organized, but undemanding, friendly and interested in getting to know the city and the people he's visiting. He's not only a good guest, but also an interesting person! One can learn a lot about the world and even about oneslef from talking to him. Very inspiring. Good luck and enjoy your nomadic life!

I stayed with Karolina for two days. It was an easy going time. Karolina speaks a perfect German language! That made my life easier :-) . She told me some interesting things about her life in Germany but also she provided a lot of books and maps about Warsaw. She is a caringly host and I really recommend to stay with her. Thank you so much for your hospitality. Best wishes - Michael

I enjoyed your short stay and thank you for sharing and our talks. Every guest brings a spiritual gift and thank you for yours. It encourages me to carry on my studies and to do some more out of it. Hope that your journeys will give you what you are searching for and I hope that we will meet again.
Michael (Dan) Schneider
I found in Halldor a very patient, lovely and always friendly person. My stay was only one night but we had interesting talks about our personal situations. He gave me a very good start for my long term journey. Thank you for your hospitality.

It was another pleasant CS experience to host Michael. We had very interesting debates for hours. The trip we made to Bremerhaven was also nice for me...I always like to show things to people when I realize they are interested to discover. For me, meeting people like Michael is a pleasure and an enriching human experience.
Michael (Dan) Schneider
It was a great time we spent together. Martin is a very pleasant person who cares a lot for his guest. He showed me the huge harboer of Bremerhaven and we talked nearly the whole nights about traveling, art, philosophy, history, our life and much, much more. Thank you very much that I was able to meet you.

Recommends Michael (Dan)
Michael was a really nice surfer, the change that he did to his life is amazing, and I think in a really good direction. We were sharing meals together even if we were kind of busy. Would recommend him definitely. I'm sorry for my so late request.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm looking for warm-hearted and open-minded people who are also interested in travel and other cultures. I love spirituality and nature (wild and/or rural). Talking, listening, and sharing are important to me.
Since I'm new to your city, I'd really appreciate your tips and practical information about your city and surrounding area. And of course, a guided tour to your favorite "secret" places would be fantastic. Of course, it also works the other way around.
Couchsurfing offers the opportunity to make friends. Isn't that wonderful?

Eating is not just to have a meal. It is more. To prepare a meal is one of many connections to the nature. And it could be like a meditation. To have a meal means you put the pure nature into yourself.
Being grateful for thousends little moments a day.
