About Me
Aloha! My name is Michael Weldon and I'm originally from Honolulu, Hawaii. I graduated from university with a degree in Psychology in Seattle, Washington. After working for corporate America for 10 years, I decided to travel abroad and experience what the world has to offer. So far I spent a year in Bangkok, two in Tokyo, and currently in Taipei. I really enjoy having a conversation over coffee or drinks, trying new food, and experiencing the city. I'm quite outgoing, and enjoy starting up conversations with people. I also enjoy reading and writing and am perfectly content with being low key, too.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
My friends always spoke highly about their couch-surfing experience; meeting new people, exploring the city with their host, and feeling connected. I thought I'd give it a try!
Music, Movies, and Books
Movies: I enjoy romantic comedies (including the cheezy ones), sci-fi, dramas and documentaries.
Music: I mainly listen to pop and classical.
Books: I love all kinds of books!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I volunteer at an orphanage in Taipei, that accommodates children whose parents are infected with HIV. I spend time playing games, reading stories, and playing outside. I also help with feeding the infants and toddlers. I really enjoy it!
Teach, Learn, Share
I've worked for Starbucks corporate for 10 years, so I have all the insider secrets.
I also lived in many cool cities: Honolulu, San Francisco, New York City, Bangkok, Tokyo, and Taipei. I love traveling, and have some crazy stories to tell.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share household chores, helping around the house, cleaning. Pretty much anything.
