About Me

Ok..so HI :D My name's Mike, or 'Walker Whiz' if referring to my travel name, and I enjoy like some of you, and hopefully most, to travel. I guess it's nothing major or crazy...I mean let's be honest, who doesn't?

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

So the BIG ?...'WHY', or as the twenty-fifth letter in the English alphabet...'Y'. Where to even begin really...
I guess I'm on here because I'm looking for places to stay along my upcoming journey, or as I like to call them; 'adventures'. If it's the 'place', or 'location' you're asking for, I would have to say; 'the Buckeye Trail'...which narrows it down to at least the great Ohioans of this astonishing country, sir nicknamed 'United States of America'. And I'm looking for any of you who know/may not even realize they live near, even ON this 'once' famous travelling path filled with tons of history of, sir...'awesome' state of Ohio.

Honestly, right now I'm even kinda trying to judge how much of the 'Y' ? we should delve into right now. I guess I'll say: "If any of you are interested in volunteering to host a young gentlemen at the age of 26, for a night, as I travel...quite literally, 'around' the state of Ohio in every direction possible, I would greatly appreciate it. As of now the dates are unknown, but if I were to guess I'd say it's looking like sometime close to the beginning of the new year. Gotta start it good, right? So that's my goal, or 'plan', if you want to call it that. My overall goal though, is to make it back before the end of April...as Walker Whiz takes on his next journey and travels to the west coast with his buddies, where they will drop him off to leave him stranded by himself and NO WAY of getting home." :D

My only rule involves the four basic elements, (air/earth/water/fire) and there relation to our basic 'needs' as human beings; shelter, food, water, and fire. They are all that I need to survive and all that I am looking for, and any/all help and services are greatly appreciated. However, once the adventure begins, I can no longer ask of any services/help (unless emergency situation), if anything should arise.

As for now, if you're looking for more I'd say try shooting a young brother a message and maybe I'll send you a video of one of my previous adventures I've had the pleasures of enjoying recently. Or you can just check my new Facebook page, known as 'Adventure Anyone?'. Besides the more 'in-depth' version as to 'why I'm traveling', the page also offers great info and daily motivation shared among many others also in love with the art of traveling.
As for those looking to learn the quickest, easiest, and most AFFORDABLE ways of doing so...all while trying to obtain the same pleasure as that of there recent 'family vacation', 'summer get-a-way', or even the famous 'honeymoon experience'...I ask you for thee assistance. For I will also be willing to offer whatever advice and knowledge obtained, or answer any questions asked, or even tell a story upon request...to anyone willing to offer so much as a break in thy travels for any reason necessary.

Interests

Well, besides the obvious, I would have to say I have several. In a nutshell, I like everything ranging from traveling, to exercising, even dancing. My sport of choice would have to be 'volleyball'. My overall 'vision' so far is to one-day (picture this): I will be traveling all over the world teaching people the importance of a healthy body, how to use and express it properly, and WHY I (and Walker Whiz), believe that this world could run on pure love and kindness, used with the simple art of 'traveling' itself, and am here to do my part in making this world a better place...no matter how awesome (or crazy) it may seem to some.

Music, Movies, and Books

This is definitely a section I'll be editing the more I use this site so you'll probably have to wait.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My first 'adventure on my own' was traveling from Cleveland, Ohio down to St. Petersburg, Fl. Made it in three weeks and while I didn't necessarily 'hitch-hike', I was provided every single thing I possibly needed (including rides), without any 'planning' at all...(took my last paycheck, paid off a few debts, had one of my brothers drop me off at an 'outdoors' store where I spent the remanding money I had on whatever I thought I could use at the time. Oh, and I had the pleasure of bringing a small camera in which I ended up using quite a bit of....but those are for other stories.

Teach, Learn, Share

...is exactly what I plan on doing the whole time, during the entire adventure (with anyone who's willing to give up 'time' for a simple conversation)

What I Can Share with Hosts

Lessons I've learned, experiences I've had, a solid workout (with a professional trainer :D ) if you want and don't mind the company. Books that I've read, information I've gathered, or even a little story if you want of any adventure I've lived in life. I'm an 'open-book' on the road, usually. Gives me the ability to be free, whoever I want, and learn about and express myself in every form possible. The art of 'sharing' and 'giving' are easily some of the greatest values one can hold/acquire throughout the span of a lifetime.
