I'm an adventurer with a big heart. I try to be as present as possible for the people in my life, to give what I have to give, and to accept when others do the same with me.

I'm appreciative, patient, and a total goofball, but I'm told that I'm also quite intense.

To me, man-made wonders can never measure up to those in nature; at best they can complement nature. Still, I love cities because people are awesome :)

I can't stand cigarette smoke (it really messes me up), I like building and fixing things, and I'm at home talking or listening!

One of my favorite parts about traveling is the openness it brings out of people. My first time abroad, this permanently changed my outlook and the way I interact with people. Since then, I guess I've tried to evangelize as much as possible, making new friends and extending hospitality wherever I can, but there's still something about being in a totally new place that let's people realize they have nothing to lose. So meeting more people in that place sounds awesome!

Intereses

I do a lot of different things. I build things for a career and as a hobby... software, hardware, just about anything, really. I like cooking, spreading good cheer (seriously - this is an activity of mine, even independently of the cooking!), yoga, meditation, most sports, and anything that gets me outside. I sound a lot more hippy than I am (but hippies are totally awesome too)!

I sing and play guitar and bass in a couple bands, and I write music for solo guitar and voice. Music is therapeutic to me, and I love playing with other people!

Finally, I kind of love teaching and helping animals.

I like certain songs from just about every genre (not exaggerating). I'd say romantic-era classical is a safe go-to, but only because it's kind of timeless and not too dependent on situation.

My favorite books bore most people, and my favorite movies are Forrest Gump, Guy Ritchie stuff, and the Bourne series, with a couple others thrown in there.

I once worked with a student in a GED program. She'd been there trying for six years, and had never gotten close to the point passing grade in a couple sections of the exam. In about eight sessions with her, I was able to help her not only pass the exam in all of her trouble sections, but earn exceptional scores in *all* sections. Watching her finally graduate that program was one of my proudest moments.
