Overview
About Me
Howdy! My name is Michael Ziegler the 1st. Adventure and research are two words that best describe my passion for travel. As a geologist/paleontologist I love traveling around the U.S. and abroad to visit historic localities, observe the unique natural terrain, enjoy the people that live there, and of course sip on a local beer or two!
Love: spicy food challenges, meeting new people, and animals!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
for the inherent friendly nature of couchsurfing hosts, meeting new people, pay it forward hospitality mentality, and of course the low-budget college student financial status that inversely matches my desire to travel (:

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
As a smithsonian intern in the Panama Canal, hiked the highest volcano in the country, due to mild-dehydration, altitude, and too much celebratory wine upon reaching the summit passed out, woke up and traded remaining wine to extreme ATVers for a ride down the mountain. Twas an interesting experience!
What I Can Share with Hosts
Always good for bringing over some beer/wine and trading stories!
Love to cook, do outside work, and don't mind cleaning!
