About Me

I enjoy traveling and meeting new people on the way. I'm up for any type of sport/physical activity, though I'm partial to fencing. Always trying new foods/edible things/slightly inedible things. Father's a chef, mother's a florist --- avoiding both of those lines of work as much as possible. Grew up outside a small town started traveling as soon as I could. Optimistic about pretty much anything, and have a knack for fixing things, and eating chocolate. I have no issue starting a conversation with pretty well anyone, regardless of language barriers. Biggest issues, saying no to chocolate, pastries, ice cream, and really really stupid plans.

PHILOSOPHY

Doing something you know you can do, is not as much fun as doing something you had no idea you could do.

CURRENT MISSION

Take what is given, give what is asked, do what is suggested, assume what is suggested is going to end badly

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

--Update, Oct 2012 Euro trip, meeting some really great people through this website, and randomly meeting people on trains and buses who are also involved in it, full of wonderful people doing crazy things.

--Update, Dec 2012 Back from my euro trip, turned out marvelously, In NB Canada, working to afford another trip.

--Update, March 2014 saved up a bit of money, heading down to the southern states to sit on some beaches and fence in hot weather. I have only once been that way and only for a weekend tournament. Hoping to hitchhike and couch surf from city to city.

--Update. Oct 2014 More money euro trip round two in progress

--Update, Jan 2015 headed to Hawaii then onto Australia

--Update, May 2014 living in Adelaide Australia to gather more money to continue

--Update, July 2016 Living in a van going across Canada with my girlfriend who I met in Adelaide

Interests

Mostly fencing, since I was young it has been the sport that has allowed me to meet new people and see new places. I like bird watching, chess, strategy games, and I'm open to trying any new sports. Im currently working as a bellman at a hotel which allows me to spend my day learning about my city and guide visitors. Food, languages, games, sport, music, theater, adventures, computers, juggling.

Music, Movies, and Books

Usually fantasy, mysteries, or something fun. Binge watching shows is something I am quite good at. unfortunately I like guessing the ending to anything I'm watching.... kind of annoying to anyone else who does not enjoy doing the same and I talk during movies.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Many many things, but definitely not enough, got to get back out there and do more.
Ask me about
-The time I got the wrong ticket and didn't notice till the plane was landing.
-The time I lasted one day at a job
-The time I decided to go hitch hiking in Iceland when it was October

Teach, Learn, Share

Impart the, "do as I say, not as I do" curriculum.

Learn anything/everything ... why would you not?

Share everything that I don't need to survive (you can have the rest when I die)

I have a feeling the title to this catagory changed, so my new responce goes somthing along the lines of, I like to live like my hosts, if that means we can cook together, or I can help you out somehow, I never have any issue with that. I can offer great conversation about some topics and an avid ear for all the others.

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Belgium, Canada, Fiji, France, Germany, Iceland, Ireland, Netherlands, Portugal, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In
