About Me

My name is Mike and I live right outside of the big city of New York on Long Island. 5 houses down from the beach. I am 26 years old and I am avid about traveling and exploring the world. I currently work as a building inspector, which luckily I get enough vacation days to travel. I am into sports, which I have played in since I was 5 years old. At one time in life, I wanted to become a chef. That didn't happen. Instead, I decided to pick up cooking on my own, and I'm quite good. I like to go out and have fun at night. I drink, I smoke very rarely, and don't mind it if somebody else does. I am very respectful with a great personality. Hope to meet ya!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

It is always interested to meet different people from different cultures and ways of life. Some people do not realize that the beauty of a country/city is not only determined by it's landscapes and sights.... but by it's people that live there.

Music, Movies, and Books

It is definitely too hard to narrow down my list of movies. Here are a few though: The Wolf of Wall Street, Goodfellas, Braveheart, Shawshank Redemption, The Godfather, Blow, A Bronx Tale, Armageddon, Eurotrip, Blood Diamond. Fun Fact, I've never seen any Star Wars movie.

I like a lot of different music. Early 2000's hiphop, older rock and roll, alternative, some electronic. Not a big country music fan.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hanging out with locals in Boracay, The Philippines. Honestly, I originally went with the strict mindset to party for the week, but for the majority of the trip I wound up meeting and hanging out with some awesome people. I still keep in touch with them to this day. Even though I stayed in a hostel nearby, we met up everyday, played soccer, had meals with them, and also got shown a lot of spots on the island that a normal tourist definitely could not find.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: I am a man of many trades, so thats a broad topic

Learn: A city outside of the "touristy spots"

Share: Good conversation
