About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Enjoy life and and be nice to others.

ABOUT ME

I come from a lovely place in the centre of France called Auvergne. This region is a hidden jewel that is rarely talked about, but each time I get home I am overwhelmed at the view of these beautiful volcanoes!

I love to do all the simple things that make life so good : to cook, play and listen to music, meet unusual people and learn useful or useless things!

After starting life in a "normal way", studying at university, I quickly switched to spending a lot of time traveling around and visiting places while playing music in bars and restaurants. I soon realised that what makes a journey special to me is not so much buildings or landscapes that I get to see, but rather all the unique and surprising people I meet along the way.

PHILOSOPHY

Hakuna Matata!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am the best couchsurfer ever, nobody can sleep on a couch/floor/bed/... as well as I do!
Seriously, I always do my best to make sure hosting me or staying at my place is simple, easy and pleasant experience. I am respectful, clean and tidy, and I love to help out.
I travel to meet people, not to cross touristic places off of some bucket-list, and I see couchsurfing as a way to meet, share, and have fun.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Awesome experiences all over! I had loads of fun surfing around and I hope it was also a pleasure for those who kindly hosted me.

I also did a lot of "offline" couchsurfing, meeting people while playing music on the streets/in bars and ending up cooking and staying at their place!

I did not host that many time yet as I have been living quite a nomadic life in the past few years. Hopefully I build my own Cob house in a couple a years and get surfers to come and enjoy the warmth of a nice meal in a cosy place!

Interests

I'm really interested in all kinds of musics, I play the guitar, the accordion, the Irish flute, the tin wistle, the ukulele, the mandolin, the 5-strings banjo, some meditteranean percussions, and a tiny bit of piano and harmonica.

Would love to learn some more drums, and double bass... or to have a taste of any other instrument !

I also like all kinds of creative activities, and particularly enjoy sports that can be practiced outside (hiking, rock climbing, kayaking...)

I absolutely LOVE to dance! I am into folk and traditionnal dances, but I'd love to get back to rock'n'roll, swing and salsa. Learning my way into Tango is something I definitely want to do as well.

I'm always ready to share about cooking, cultures, movies, readings...

Oh... And I recently got the idea that I wanted to learn and improve in Acro yoga and Massage (probably Shiatsu, but I am pretty much interested in everything !), so if you feel like you want to join in that learning process, I'm all up for it!

Music, Movies, and Books

Music :
So many things... But if I had to restrain myself to a few styles it would be mostly old stuff: blues, New Orleans and Swing Jazz, traditional folk musics from anywhere! But life would not taste the same without Pink Floyd, Bach, Dire Strait, Vivaldi or Santana either.

Movies :
Schindler's list, The Wall, La Vita e Bella

Books :
The Unbearable Lightness of Being (Milan Kundera), Bel-ami (Maupassant), Jacques le Fataliste (Diderot)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I realised my credit card had expired while I was in Romania, ten years ago, with 10euros in my wallet and no return ticket of any kind.
So I started to play music in the streets and bars to earn a bit of money, slept in the places of friends I made along the way (sometimes in the shade of some friendly tree as well, I must say) and hitch-hiked to keep going. I think the trip couldn't have been nicer, and I have mostly been traveling this way ever since.

A great friend once told me: there are no problems, only opportunities for change. I believe he's right!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can happily teach how to play the basics of any of the instruments that I play. I've also had great fun teaching french folk dances to fellow couchsurfers.
I'm very fond of making creps, so if you've never made these delicious flat things I will be delighted to show you how. If you already know how, then let's invent a new and creative recipe!

I'm interested in learning anything about your culture, music, sports, arts, cooking, gardening or dance!
I would absolutely love to have a cooking party and learn some cooking from your area.

I just started out learning a bit of massage, and would be happy to share that as well.
