Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To see the world or receive it at home, learning to know other people, interchange ideas, experiences, points of view and opinions.
ABOUT ME
64 years old, married and living with Frauke Müller and 2 of my 4 sons between 18 and 28 years in a "plus-energy-house" (producing more energy than consuming); we like to make music, to go by bike, to hike through nature, to learn more about our environment and to participate in political activities.
PHILOSOPHY
When exploring a foreign culture and getting to know people who are very different from ourselves, we inevitability encounter things we might not like or understand. It can be hard to see eye to eye on some things and conflicts may arise. For many of us, these situations can be difficult at first. With practice, we can start to see these differences as inevitable and even fascinating. We can understand that everyone has a unique perspective. Rather than trying to be right and make another wrong, we can just enjoy that it takes all types of people to make the world go around. We see that we can still experience meaningful connections in spite of our differences of opinion, beliefs or ideologies.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
We are interested in hosting and surfing. We can offer a separate room. We'd like to show our guests interesting destinations and sights in the Rhein-Main-region. Well, from a little chat, showing around the city and the region to staying in our house for some time - everything is possible.
Just get in touch with us ... we'll figure something out.
But please, if you write, it should be something more than: Can I sleep at Your place from X to Y. Our home is not a hostel, it's about the experience, we are really interested in people - it's not only a free of cost place to sleep. Thank you :)
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I stayed with CouchSurfing in Wuppertal, Göttingen, Bonn, Nürnberg and Bad Dürkheim and hosted some people in Gross-Gerau. I voluntarily work with an organization supporting an international partnership (with Masatepe in Nicaragua) and have been hosted and hosting many other volunteers so we've got some experience.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
that you can even bring a conservative government to stop atomic energy if you work on this issue for more than 30 years together with other citizens, convincing more and more people - but that it needs a catastrophy like Fukushima to make them realize they were wrong
