Music, Movies, and Books

Music:

Chilled out electronica, particularly stuff involving strings or piano. Stuff like Bonobo, Tycho, Hidden Orchestra, Random Rab, Tennyson

Dancier electronica - stuff like Clean Bandit, Manatee Commune, Clozee, Bassnectar

Progressive metal - stuff like Animals as Leaders, Intervals, The Ocean, Scale the Summit, Plini, Sithu Aye

I've read a lot of sci fi and fantasy books. I like authors like Tolkien, Asimov, Iain Banks, Vernor Vinge, Brandon Sanderson, Robert Jordan. These days I mostly read non fiction books about technical topics (math, computers) or topics like neurobiology, emotional intelligence, productivity.

Teach, Learn, Share

Over the last couple years my main movement practice has been partner acrobatics, so I can teach the basics of that (I am typically a base, but fly as well).

One of my primary computer interests is in programming languages, particularly purely functional languages like Haskell. I'm fairly knowledgeable on those topics and could teach a bit. I'm also pretty math literate, can talk logic systems, type theory, category theory.

I'm really interested in pursuing correct and healthy thinking, so often keen to talk about things like cognitive biases and emotional intelligence.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'll gladly wash dishes. I've got a few good recipes I can cook as well if I've gotten time to get the ingredients (particularly, a simplified beef bourginion!). I can share good vibes, conversation, and possibly a bit of computer assistance. If you use a computer a lot, I can also share a surplus of relatively novel ergonomic ideas.
