About Me

CURRENT MISSION

renovating the flat, working in our garden and yard, community ecological gardening, work on good life

ABOUT ME

I live in a beautiful old farm-house in frankfurt, built in the 19th century, together with 4 flatmates. we have a yard, a big barn and a wonderful garden where we grow fruits, berries and vegetables. Living there and working on a joint good life, together with guests and friends is a big part of my self-understanding. Restoring an old table is better than spending the time in working more for money and buing a new one. Own cooking can be much better than restaurant-food. I prefer ecological food, but fast-food and convenient-food from time to time seems to be important too.

PHILOSOPHY

Good life is not a question of money but of how you spend your time. Life is rather a garden than a supermarket.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I havent been participating in couchsurfing for quite a long time - I am going to get back into it, as I believe in this great idea of sharing, traveling, hosting, getting hosted: easy, in direct contact with people and one way of practical anti-capitalism.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I was hosted in Marseille two years ago and it was great - thanks for that. Usually I do host friends and friends of friends (so without internet-platform) and that was always big fun and a plus for everybody.

Interests

Arts, photography, philosophy, literature, building, crafting, gardening. Jazz, fusion, crossover, guitar, singing -I also love good food and cooking!

Music, Movies, and Books

great movies: "Playtime"(Jaques Tati); "Zardoz", "THX-1138" (Lukas), "weekend" (Godard), "Themroc", "Vertigo" (Hitchcock), "Only Lovers left alive" (Jarmusch), "Deadlock" (Roland Klick), movies of Woody Allen, Lars von Trier, Antonioni, Almodóvar, Luis Buñuel, Fassbinder, Buster Keaton, … experimental, underground, history of cinema.

Music: Bugge Wesseltoft, Zappa, John Scofield, Miles Davis, Michael Wolnys Wunderkammer, 80-ies, Beatles, Hendrix, good songs of every times, World-Music.

Theory: Blumenberg, Foucault, Deleuze, Derida, Nietzsche, Byung-Chul Han, Heidegger, Marquard, Adorno.
Fiction: "Ince Mehment" (Yasar Kemal), Demian (Hesse), L'étranger (Camus), "Der Schrecksenmeister" (Walter Moers), "Il barone rampante" (Italo Calvino), … - I love rich, critical, experimental, lyrical language. I rather don't understand everything than reading what I already know, heard, or read hundred times before.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One Thing? - no sorry, not my cup of tea: Bats in our yard, paragliding, an excursion on russian rivers, working with refugees in Croatia, Bosnia and Serbia, see plants grow, flower and get their fruits, eating local food in very different parts of the world, meet good friends, working in nonhierarchical teams (also internationally), getting out of a depressive phase, contemporary dance, acrobatics, swimming in the sea, romantic and dramatic plots of my life-story.

Teach, Learn, Share

As an adult-educator I am specialized in: European exchange-programmes, intercultural encounter, transculturality, communication, conflict-resolution, non-violence, self-directed learning, group dynamics, creativity, historical and political education, arts and education.
I love reading and writing on the one hand but as well doing very practical things with hands: cooking, playing guitar, gardening, crafting, renovating. I will work with clay renovating part of the flat in april/may 2014, in march I will set up part of the electrics in the house - I do have some knowledge and if someone likes to participate, he/she is invited. If you have knowledge and/or want to learn about gardening, renovating, … or want to contribute your knowledge: you are welcome.

Countries I’ve Visited
