About Me

I finished my University studies in the Netherlands (Wageningen UR) and in the Czech Republic (CULS) in 2015. When I graduated, I started to work in an office of a company producing baby food. It is a really nice category of products and therefore a really nice work :-) I am trying to travel a lot together with my partner Jan (who is studying to become a biology teacher) - both around my homeland and around Europe.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think nothing really gives you a better idea about the life in another place, than a visit to someone's home. I really like to meet people from different cities and countries; finding out about their culture and getting to know their points of view.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like music a lot. Actually, I have had a band for around 4 years during my studies. I am still trying to compose music, but nowadays, I think I am a little bit too happy to write deep, meaningful songs :-)
As an audience, I like to listen to all different kinds of music and bands. I like to go to some underground bands' concerts from time to time. Luckily, we have a lot of them in Prague. From the generally known bands, I like: Foo Fighters, Snow Patrol, Parov Stelar, Paramore, Placebo, Arctic Monkeys, The Kooks etc. If you'd like to hear some really good Czech underground, go for UFAJR, or Manon Meurt.
There is quite some books I have read, but I don't remember a lot of them :-) In the recent months I kind of enjoyed "Wild" from Cheryl Strayed, "The Great Gatsby" from Fitzgerald or "The Unbearable Lightness of Being" from the Czech writer Kundera.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

For me, it´s always amazing to go somewhere on a true adventure. The two amazing adventures I passed last year were: a trek around Brdy, a Czech national park; and a road-trip through Austria and Slovenia. This was really amazing.

Teach, Learn, Share

As one of my interests is cooking, I would be more than happy to teach you to cook some of my countries´ specialities. It can be a cake, or the amazing and easy dill sauce for example. On the other hand, I would love you to share your cooking secrets and tell me something about your cuisine.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share a baking tray of the delicious family recipe gingerbread with apples. Supposing the host has an oven. :-)
