About Me
I finished a studio art degree in December 2020 and am excited to figure out my own unique path to being a practicing artist—and excited for the unexpected detours along the way, too! Currently, I am on a several-month-long road trip around the western US with my boyfriend of two years, hiking and camping in many national parks and checking out some urban centers. We are both fully vaccinated against Covid-19. My boyfriend has lived in the US for four years now and not done a lot of traveling, so I'm loving the opportunity to share some of the landscapes I saw as a kid, as well as visit new places together. A more consistent freelance remote working schedule is still evading me on this trip, but we're still saying 'yes' to adventure and letting the details fall into place along the way!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I first learned about Couch Surfing while backpacking in South America, where I met one traveler after another who had great things to say about the incredible community of people they found from all over the world. I have enjoyed the few surfing experiences I've been able to have, and I look forward to being a host when my living situation allows it!
Interests
While growing up I was always the "artsy" girl, learning how to draw, paint, sew, play instruments, and much more. I love the process of designing visual products, and my favorite material to work with is fabric. I could spend all day creating new things, but I don't know exactly what I want to create, so I'm on an international search to see where I might be inspired.
When I'm not getting so deeply involved in my art, I love to cook (mainly because food is so amazing), get outdoors, and listen to my friends, and try to just hang out and relax!

Music, Movies, and Books
Music—A lot of Latin pop and raggaeton, as well as alternative and regional sounds
Movies—quirky, artistic, independent films (yes, I like Wes Anderson films...¯\_(ツ)_/¯ )
Books—Much of the reading I get in is of artist interviews and visual/materials studies analyses of contemporary art
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I made a suit of armor (kind of) out of mugs and coffee filters, and had a model wear it at a fashion show in the Weisman Art Museum!
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach foundational art skills for drawing and painting with watercolors or acrylics (I taught young students at an art school for several years). I can also teach you more than you realized there was learn about sewing, textiles and apparel!
I love to learn about the people of the world, their cultures, and their ways of life. Especially about their hot drinks, like coffee, tea, and yerba mate (I've been working on a project collecting these materials for over 2.5 years—ask me more about it!). I want to meet people from all places and learn to stress less and enjoy more.
I would like to share my desire to learn and love the different ways people live in the world. I can also share in the experience of being confused and not knowing what you're doing— not today, not next year, not in life!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I like to listen and hear what people have to say. I will gladly brew you a cup of coffee, tea, or yerba mate and sit around for the conversation. I'm happy to help if anything needs to get done, and if not I can keep myself entertained if my host needs some time to themself!
