Overview
About Me
Hey my name is Michael and I am staying with my friend Jackson on his family’s farm in northern Alabama. It’s a beautiful 30 acre property near a river where we live in a tiny house with our 2 dogs. We are growing our own food and would like to be 100% self sustainable whether that means using solar energy or wind (we have the solar panels but need help setting up a correct system) we’d eventually like to have farm animals here too like chickens and goats.
Also it should be noted we are both musicians who play multiple instruments and we have a studio in the shed with a piano, drums, guitar, bass and amplifiers for recording music and having epic jam sesh’s!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Like i said my friend Jackson asked me to make a profile for him so that we can start hosting people from all over the world on his beautiful property in Florence Alabama!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I finished a couchsurfin' extravaganza across the US, visiting America's most prominent artist hot spots. Now that I'm done and I understand the beauty and magic of couch surfing it's time to repay my karma! All are welcome, any age, any type of person. Rest assured.
Interests
Art, movies, books. I especially enjoy traveling, film and of course meeting new people. Recently I've been finding a lot of truth in astrology (I'm a sagittarius). I also have been playing music my whole life--I started on drums then gradually branched out to piano, guitar and harmonica.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love documentaries and foreign films--Also Anything Tarantino, Coppola, or Kubrick related and of course Scorsese.
I love live music! Some of my favorites bands are classics like Nirvana, Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash, Sublime, The White Stripes, The Doors and The Red Hot chili Peppers but i’m also a festival junkie and i’ve been to more music festivals than i can count!
I read A LOT--since I was a little kid I have gone from one book to another--you name it and I've probably read it: I especially like the classics. A few that stand out are Herman Hesse's Siddartha and Hunter S. Thompson's fear and loathing. Kurt Vonnegut is also worth mentioning as well as Tom Wolfe, Stephen King, Ken Kesey J.K. Rowling and Ralph Waldo Emerson.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I wrote a 380 page science fiction novel called Rhythmtopia and Jackson lived on a bus where he protested at Standing Rock.
