ABOUT ME

I love finding out new ideas and meeting people who have different ways of thinking. I have had the good fortune to live in a number of places. I grew up in Ireland, studied undergraduate in England, lived for a year in Colombia, did graduate studies in California, and now do physics research in Seattle.

I love going to a new place, with a minimal plan and just seeing what unfolds. And although I love to travel - I love even more to go and live for a few months in another country.

PHILOSOPHY

Keep learning and thinking. I am a scientist (my research is in quantum computing) and this guides my philosophy somewhat.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love learning and discovering new ways of thinking about things, both academic and otherwise.

I have recently discovered that I am not completely incapable of learning languages - something that I really didn't know before living in Colombia for a year. Now I am a keen linguist and I am self teaching myself German and have my sights set on Chinese!
