About Me

Born and raised in the Appalachian (App-uh-latch-un) mountains in a very small town and full of family. I love to meet new people, learn their stories, and hopefully grow through understanding others. I really enjoy learning about people's passions and what drives them.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I was referred by a friend who couchsurfs. I met her in a hostel a while back and she said I would be the perfect type for something like this so I decided to give it a try :)
I was raised in extremely homogeneous eastern Kentucky, so the new perspectives of people around the world are great to learn.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music:
I'm all over the place: ARIZONA, Coldplay, Illenium, Eric Church... I listen to country as it reminds me of home, EDM for upbeat activities and much else when just vibing with friends. I listen to a lot of slower music in general but that is obviously in contrast to the EDM mood sometimes haha.

Movies:
I like movies that make me solve a puzzle; movies that really suck you in to think: Interstellar, The Irishman, Inception, In Bruges, Seven Psychopaths, etc... I also like comedies and action but am generally not into scary movies but I can watch them.

Books:
The Broken Earth Trilogy
I'm only recently becoming a real "reader" as most of what I read is nonfiction documentary-type stuff. But I like The Alchemist and I loved the Percy Jackson series as a kid.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I moved out of my home at 16 to go to university early. This experience truly shaped a large part of who I am today and my values. I learned that with grit you can make anything happen and that there is time for rest and time for work, but we must find our own delicate balance. I learned about burnout, I learned about relationships, and what it means to be a part of mutually supporting network of people. I could talk more specifically about this experience ALL DAY :)

Teach, Learn, Share

Most importantly, I can teach you about Bitcoin (I really like talking about the technical side, not really looking at it as investment)! I can teach you basic programming concepts if you're interested. I can teach you a lot of rural American culture and explain a lot of misconceptions about that environment.

I am open to learning anything but am specifically interested in hands-on skills!

We can share our life stories and hopefully learn a thing or two from each other.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Meditation principles
Software basics
DIY tips
One-bag travel tips
Personal finance (anything from long term investing and ETFs to daytrading to optimizing credit card points to budgeting)
Most importantly, time! Time is our core nonrenewable resource, but I want to spend it building relationships with people! To learn from and to teach about our life experiences.
