About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Make it out alive!

ABOUT ME

If you asked my friends or family about the type of person I am, they would have a variety of different answers and stories about me. Some of them good, some of them bad, but the overwhelming majority of them would say that I am not living the life of average Joe.

When it comes to experiences, I'm a person who says yes, and figures out how to make it work. I'm not the type of person to say something along the lines of "I wish I could go...". I'm more of a "Lets go...".

Im highly grateful for this community, as it is one of the things that makes my life possible. Without all of you I would lead a very static life, but thankfully I still have the desire and ability to travel. My work allows me to be free from an office, and its just a matter of finding that balance between work and exploration.

I run a travel website and community called ExploreThere (http://explorethere.com). It is fairly fresh, but we have several contributors, and are developing partnerships at the moment which I'm wildly excited about. I'd love to tell you about it, so just ask me...

PHILOSOPHY

I like to experience everything I get a chance to experience. I want to see everything I possibly can before I die...

People in the Unied States take about 2 weeks and go on vacations in Florida or California...
People from Canada take 2 or 3 months and travel Europe...
The Aussies on the other hand... well... They drop everything they are doing, job and all, and travel the world for 2 or 3 years....
I should have been born Australian.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Lets just say that I'm somewhat of an expert couch surfer. I have managed to live and run a business out of a couple backpacks over the last six months inside the state of Texas while I tried to figure out where I wanted to move. I figured out that I somewhat enjoy the life of the vegabond/couchsurfer and am making an effort to take that lifestyle overseas again to experience more cultures while on my journey.

Interests

Photography, Experiencing new things

I enjoy talking about philosophy, the world, the different perspectives in everything, and most of all I just like doing anything that leads to some crazy adventure.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've seen the red wood trees of California, the Grand Canyon in Arizona, driven the Blue Ridge Parkway of North Carolina, seen the Milky Way from the clear skies of west Texas, been to the College World Series in Omaha Nebraska, been bitten by a blue crab and stung by jellyfish in Florida, overcome my fear of heights by skydiving, hiked through the rain forest and walked through clouds in Costa Rica, drank Belikin beer in Belize, seen Live 8 in Germany with a crazy group of Australians, eaten delicious lamb in Prague, explored the Castles of Germany, climbed the mountains of Switzerland, gambled away my money in Monaco, skied in the Austrian Alps, Swam in both the Mediterranean and the Caribbean, made a British Guard grin, ate on the rooftops of Copenhagen, drank bottles of wine on the beaches of Nice, explored the hedge mazes of Britain, walked the red light districts of Amsterdam, seen the incredibly history of Berlin, and all I can think about is how little I've actually done. I have a huge desire to learn and see the wonders of the world, experience new cultures, and hopefully be able to spread that joy and knowledge on to others.

Teach, Learn, Share

If I could get anyone any piece of advice that I think actually makes a difference it would be:
Do what makes you happy. If you are unhappy where you are in your life, the only person who can change that is you. Don't wait for something to change, because it likely never will. Make your own change.
