About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To meet and aide interesting new people from around the world
I CAN NOT HOST FROM MARCH 29 -JUNE 12 OR FROM JULY 2 - SEPTEMBER 1. PLEASE DO NOT SEND REQUESTS FOR THESE DATES.
I WILL ALSO NOT HOST IF YOU HAVE NO REFERENCES, OR IF YOU DO NOT HOST SURFERS IN YOUR HOME.
I WILL NOT HOST SURFERS UNDER THE AGE OF 25 UNLESS YOU HAVE MANY POSITIVE REFERENCES OR TOOK THE TIME TO WRITE A DECENT REQUEST.
Despite me writing this I know I will still receive tons of requests from people who do not fit this description because no one takes the time to read a profile anymore. If you send me a request and don't meet the above criteria I will say no without giving a reason, as it is clearly explained above.
I hate that it has come to this but I keep taking chances on people just to have my home disrespected and my generosity taken for granted. This site has been flooded by people who have no desire for social interaction or cultural exchange, so I am choosing to be selective over who I host these days.
ABOUT ME
Hey everyone! My name is Michael and I am currently living in Boston, MA. I am an avid runner, and plan a lot of the trips I take around running events. I would rather go on a random adventure than make set plans. I am a fan of museums, historic sites, and learning about the world we live in through experiencing it. You can read all the books you want and browse all the pictures you can find from a certain place but nothing is ever the same as going and seeing it for yourself. I feel the best part about traveling is meeting new people and experiencing the differences in cultures, so what better way to do that then stay with locals?
PHILOSOPHY
Do what makes you happy, and always seek adventure.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
All of the people that I have met through couchsurfing have been amazing. I have learned a lot and seen some awesome things. This site has allowed me to meet a lot of very interesting people. I tell everyone I know that they need to sign up for this site and tell of all the ways this site has affected me, my views, and my life. Signing up for the couchsurfing project has been, by far, the best decision I have made in a long time. I probably never would have been able to see or experience the things I have since signing up. The best thing about couchsurfing is everyone's openness to trying new things, and the shared interest of living life to its fullest. The people I meet through this site are unlike any I've met before. Fearless, adventurous, open-minded, generous, accepting of all life styles, and a thirst to better understand the cultures and way of life of everyone from all corners of the earth. These are all ways that I can describe every single person I have met through this site, and I am excited to continue to meet more.
Interests
My main interest for the last few years has been running marathons. I'm pursuing several of the typical quests to eventually run a marathon in all 50 states, run all the "majors", and run a marathon on every continent. I don't know if I'll ever be able to complete it but I sure am going to try! I would say another interest of mine is travel but that's pretty much implied considering how I participate in this site. I love learning about the differences in cultures around the world, and hearing about people's daily lives, their passions, and why they love where they live. I'm a huge advocate for making sacrifices to do what one wants to do in their life. I love biology and history, which makes any city with a lot of museums high on my list of places I would like to go. I enjoy learning new recipes from around the world and am trying to learn a traditional recipe from every country in the world. I love my family and my friends and enjoy spending time in their company. A big interest of mine is learning about other people's interests! I'm way more of a listener than a talker and would rather hear about what someone else enjoys and learn about that than talk about my own!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The first time I traveled outside of the country was to Switzerland, and seeing how amazing and beautiful the world could be changed my dreams, goals, and philosophy on life forever. It made me want to see as much as I could see, and experience all I could experience in the short time we are here.
I also took a 3 week solo car trip to see/camp/hike the National Parks in Utah and Arizona, and couchsurfed the whole way there and back.
I ran the Paris Marathon
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you how to make a mean peanut butter and jelly sandwich! I can give you advice on some nice places o run in Boston. I'd love to learn new recipes too so if you have one you think I need to know, please share!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'm not sure what this new section is about. I can offer hosts what couchsurfing is all about - Connections, conversation, story-swapping, travel tips, and all the other social interactions that go along with staying in someone's home.
