About Me

Hiya! I'm a student living in Providence, Rhode Island, USA. (RI is not actually an island, for those of you wondering.)

I really like trains and public transportation. Everywhere I go, I try to ride trains.

Like everyone else here, I LOVE travelling and exploring new places. I have a sense of adventure which often leads me into unexpected but wonderful situations. I also love getting to know people who are different than me, because I think that is one of the best ways to learn about life and the world.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm looking to stay with interesting people and get the local perspective on things.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite movie is Pom Poko, a Japanese anime film about shape-shifting racoon dogs and their fight to save their forest home from the 1960's suburban development boom.

My favorite TV show is an Australian period drama called A Place To Call Home. It's so much better than Downton (sorry, not sorry).

In terms of music, I listen to a lot of "indie" electronica and tropical house. Mazde, Vanic, Sigrid, Vallis Alps, Møme, and Melvv are some people I've been listening to recently. I also really like MØ, Lorde, ODESZA, Sam Smith, and Vampire Weekend. I'm also into musicals (Wicked!) and older country music (Johnny Cash, anyone?).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I went on a 45-day hiking trip in the Himalayas. Memories are fleeting, but the views I saw on that trip I will never forget for as long as I live.

Teach, Learn, Share

The most important piece of wisdom I have ever received is to ~always assume positive intent~.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My cooking skills are formidable (I'm great at improvising with weird ingredients), and I almost always travel with spices to make curry.

I also enjoy just chilling out and chatting over a beer (or even better, over a craft cocktail).

Countries I’ve Visited

Canada, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Honduras, India, Ireland, Mexico, Nicaragua, Northern Ireland, Norway, United Kingdom

Countries I’ve Lived In

India, United States
