Grew up in the U.S. in Northern California and went to university at UC Berkeley where I studied English and played baseball. I graduated in 2014 And went to Germany to play baseball in the German professional league and then to Australia to do the same. I just took a job that requires a lot of travel so I'll be on the move for a while.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'll be traveling a lot in the near future and couch surfing is a great way to meet people and get shown around a new city.

Interests

I love sports and anything outdoors. Climbing, swimming, surfing, whatever. I spend a lot of time reading and writing, I try to make time for a bit of yoga or meditation. Good food and wine always makes me happy. So does my guitar.

Music, Movies, and Books

grew up on Van Morrison, Tom Waits, Sam Cooke, Bill Withers and Bob Dylan so I'm always good with that. And anything new that comes along. The national, band of horses, modest mouse, the shins, Sharon Van Etten, Say Hi, Bombay Bicycle Club, Airborne Toxic Event, Vancouver Sleep Clinic, Angus Stone, Pinback,Beach House, Sales, The Killers, Paleo, Broken Social Scene.. and whoever else is sounding good that day.

I used to be a big movie guy but I don't spend much time in front of the tv anymore.

Reading: Don Delillo. Murakami. Tolstoy. Nabokov. Kazuo Ishiguro, Cormac McCarthy, Paul Theroux, Joseph Heller, Bruce Chatwin. I'll talk books with you all day.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Flew across the world to play baseball in Perth, Australia, the most isolated city in the world.

I don't know that I've done anything too amazing just yet. It's coming though.
