About Me

I love traveling, learning new languages, and scuba diving. I am a Scuba Diving Instructor, and I enjoy all sorts of adventure sports.

I've just spent a season in Niseko, Japan, where I also enjoyed some snowboarding adventures.

I'm now looking at moving to Germany on a Working Holiday Visa to experience Europe and learn another language.

I lived in Taiwan for almost 4 years as an English Teacher, and in Japan for a year on student exchange while in University, and now another 6 months in Japan working in a hotel and on a farm.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on couchsurfing to meet new people, learn about the culture in the area from friendly locals and other travellers, and gain amazing insight into the places I want to travel, as well as hear stories about other peoples travels to inspire myself to go to new places I never would have thought to visit.

Interests

I have been a Scuba Instructor since June 2016, a part time Divemaster for a year and half before that while I was sitting behind a computer all day long. I have been diving since I went to Guam in 2009.

I majored in Japanese at University and did an exchange program in Japan for a year as well, and this ignited a love of languages and the feeling of wanting to be able to understand and communicate in even more languages. I have a fairly strong grasp of Japanese and basic conversational skills in Mandarin. I am starting to learn German as well but am still an absolute beginner.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most amazing thing I think I've ever done was move to Japan as a student. It was my first time travelling fully by myself, going somewhere I couldn't communicate too well, and first time living by myself. It was an amazing experience and has made me the person I am today.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can help you learn English and chat about diving, as well as all sorts of travel stories.
