About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To reinvent my life

ABOUT ME

Wow, I didn't know that I travelled to 21 different countries until I just counted the ones I listed here in CS. About me? I love to experience new places and ideas. I'm walking a spiritual path where I believe in a higher power that is bigger than human-created religions (they all are). I believe that your worth is measured in the number of hearts you can inspire, not on the amount of toys you can collect, but that can be fun too.

PHILOSOPHY

I believe that life has many more mysteries than science has any idea about. I also believe that having a positive attitude and a sense of humor is essential for staying sane in today's crazy world.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Right now I just arrived in Beijing and will be staying in Pizhou City, China (of which I have no idea about the place, its not in any guidebook I've seen) It will be my first teaching post, and I plan on learning as much Chinese as I can while I'm here.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I'm not a veteran CS and I just joined yesterday 7/31/11

Music, Movies, and Books

many movies and books in different genres
My early favourite movie growing up was Raiders of the Lost Ark (first one that is)

Music - I've always appreciated the music of silence haha but I do also like music of different types from classical to house/trance to world music and classic rock like Queen , Doors etc also like some opera/rock hybrid stuff I'm probably out of touch with the newest music but love to listen to music thats recommended to me

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I love rock climbing but its been a while and I sold my gear. I've travelled to many countries and have even been in the Great Pyramid alone, with only 1 guide and my British ex-wife (she died of breast cancer).

I loved the Himalayas, and spent some time in Rishikesh and Daramsala including McLeod Ganj which is simply breathtaking. I'm planning on visiting the Great Wall soon now that I'm in Beijing

Teach, Learn, Share

What can I teach? Well besides English, there I am fortunate to have had many non-religious spiritual experiences while retaining an open mind. I can help point the way to self-discovery. I'm also good with computers/ surfing the internet.

What do I want to learn? Right now its Chinese, Tantra, and learning about Chinese culture. But I'm open to learning about the passions of others and find that their passions tend to rub off on me. Also on my list to do are skydiving, bungee jumping, scuba diving.
