I am an aspiring actor looking for new experiences, preferably as different from my NYU education as possible. New York is great, but I am ready to see what else is out there.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'd like to surf a couch or two before I can settle down somewhere and begin hosting. As soon as I find a nice couch and a place to put it, however, I want to host as many couch surfers as possible. Encouraging exploration is my life goal.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I lived in an apartment in Williamsburg, NY in which my roommates surprised me with two couch surfers. Although I was resistant to surprise strangers at first, I quickly warmed to the two visitors from France and Germany. I am happy we made their visit to New York possible, and I hope I can provide that joy again someday.

Interests

I am an avid rock climber and video game fanatic with an unfortunate Fantasy Football habit fostered by growing up in Green Bay, WI. While the theater may be my calling, I am also interested in all artistic pursuits, from film to music to sculpture and then some. Nothing makes me happier in a city than a park and a waterfront.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love whimsical foreign films, from Pan's Labyrinth to Amelie. I am open to any type of music, but I must admit to a penchant for female songwriters with a strong voice, a la Joni Mitchell or Fiona Apple. Like everybody else, I love Game of Thrones, but I'm also working my way through as many of the classics as possible, with Joyce's Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man topping my favorites thus far.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I watched the sun rise over the Badlands of South Dakota from on top of one of the crumbling pillars. It was definitely safe and legal.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have four years of acting training under my belt, and I can actually help quite a bit with the simple act of speaking. Our voice and speech classes taught us the basics of making rooted sound, connecting to your listener, and articulating any form of speech. If you've always wanted to be a better speaker, I can help.

Plus, I'm a part-time baker by trade. I'll make you food.

I also worked at a rock climbing wall for three years, so if that's a passion of yours, I have helped countless noobies onto the wall for the first time.

Oh, and football. If you don't understand how it works, I am all too happy to help out.
