Overview
About Me
Hey, I was born, grew up and currently live in Germany (Berlin). So, not that colorful vita compared to other profiles on this platform ;). Think I'm pretty much pleasant, easy-going, calm and a friendly character. I appreciate listening to others who share their stories or life experiences a lot. I get along with modest conditions. My longest travel experience was about 6 weeks in Western Africa (Senegal, Gambia) and I was grateful for having the opportunity to stay with locals. I like small talk as well as more sincere talks (e.g. politics, society, everyday psychology).
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I already registered five years ago, but it is just now when I decided to finally make even USE of my account ;). During my vacation I want to spend some more time with locals from the destination. You simply got to know a place of interest better than you do while staying in a hotel.
Interests
Well, currently my interests are mainly dominated by my work for an alternative media outlet in Germany. A broad range of topics concerning society, national/international affairs and their echoes in the www. Despite from that I do some fitness, but more basic stuff. The interest in travelling is definitely present, however it came to short and I need to nourish it a bit more.

Music, Movies, and Books
Uff, when I see this category, I have a slight feeling of "non-education", because the universe of culture is infinite and my life and knowledge very small, hehe. Hm, examples anyways. Book: I recently enjoyed a lot "The Devil's Chessboard" by David Talbot: background history written almost in a Form of a novel, very narrative like a psychological thriller - but with a true "story". Movie: I watched "Aviator" several times. There aren't many movies out there, which combine so brilliantly so different ingredients like technology, society, music, psychology, history,... Music: I sing a little bit some Ray Charles songs, but only when I'm completely alone, coz ofc I cannot sing Ray Charles songs, haha...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Celebrated my 30th birthday on a base in Germany with Afghans (amongst others) and it was one of the most dialectical and memorable experiences of my life (both in bad and positive ways) - as I consider myself to be a peaceful person. Our small, but decent celebration group was tracked by a tank that night, but yes, that is another story... ^^
Countries I’ve Visited
