Hello CouchSurfers, what's up?:) My name is Michael Bratli Touray, I am 25 years old and I'm living in Oslo, Norway. I'm a sociable and cheerful person who is constantly on the go. I see myself as an open-minded, impulsive, social and empathetic guy who rarely says "no thanks" to a coffee or two. Or some beers.

I'm born and raised in Oslo with my Norwegian mom and my West African father (who is mixed from The Gambia and Guinea Conakry). I feel privileged to be raised with two very different cultures. My favorite hobbies is traveling, voulunteering work and skiing.

In the fall of 2010, I went on a school trip to Guatemala, El Salvador and Belize for five weeks where I learned about the social, economic and political situation in Central America. Most of the time I stayed in the countryside with host families. It made a huge impression on me.

In 2013, I went back to Central America for four months under a program by "The Norwegian Solidarity Committee for Latin America". This time I went to Mexico, Guatemala and ended up in the Atlantic Coast of Nicaragua.

The two last years i've been making short trips almost once every month around in Europe. My partner and I are staying in a long distance relationship, and we find it as a good plan to not only visit each other, but also to meet in different cities from time to time.

Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin

I'm on couchsurfing because it is a great opportunity to get to know people from all over the world, and also to explore the countrys i'm visiting in a less touristic way, but more by locals. It is not about getting a free place to sleep, it's about getting to know new people, challenge yourself and to explore new cultures.
