I like to stay with people, I like to explore cities, places, the entire world!
I like to eat! Expecially italian food! I'm italian after all. I like to cook. I'm a great cooker when I'm the mood of cooking. And happens very often.

Basic I'm a solo traveler: this way makes me more open to meet new people. Couchsurfing is a wonderful way!

I studied literature, art, philosophy and history at the high school and now i work for a web development company. I lived in Barcelona for an year and I left part of my soul there!
I also lived in Paris to finish my master internship for 6 months and I fell in love with that city!

COVID-19 PANDEMIC AND VERIFIED ACCOUNT

Italy, March 2021

Before the Covid-19 pandemic happened, many of us were verified hosts. When I joined Couchsurfing (Summer 2018) I PAID 56 € TO GET MY ACCOUNT VERIFIED: I found that legit because it confirms the purpose of trust and safety both for guests and hosts.
I've put lots of effort to grow myself as a decent host here on Couchsurfing (please read member's references: they are the best proof to get informations about a host/guest).

Some months ago, CS closed the community and asked members to pay an annual fee (around 14,90€) subscription to allow users having access to their profile.
I thought about whether to pay or not (it was very upsetting, but I understood we were in pandemic), but then I've come up realising that I have a noticeable profile and the whole idea it's one of the best of our crazy XXI century. So, I decided to pay the annual fee to log in again.

HOW COUCHSURFING DELETED MY VERIFICATION GREEN BADGE

Once I've logged in my profile, I've discovered that I'm no longer a verified member. If I want to be verified member again I need to verify my account BY PAYING AGAIN 56€.

THAT'S UNFAIR!!!!

I also discovered they put google ads in the pages even after I've paied the subscription! THAT'S RIDICULOUS! I've paid for annual subscription: remove ads!

I completely understand the situation caused by Covid-19 and paying 14,90€ to support the app and the community seemed legit to me (ads in the pages are however ridiculous)

I just don't accept that CS is taking advantage of the situation to unjustifingly ask for more money!

I FOUND VERY UNFAIR THAT COUCHSURFING IS ASKING MONEY TO GET MY ACCOUNT VERIFIED AND ASKING MONEY WHICH I'VE ALREADY PAID!
THEY'VE BASICALLY STOLEN 56€ FROM ME.

That's UNBELIEVABLE!

Please help me to spread this message all around the community if you don't agree!
