Hey, I am Michal, a guy from the Czech Republic currently living in Salzburg, Austria =)

I would describe myself as a reliable, hard-working, (hope to be) (= cheerful enough =) pleasant person, who likes to fill his free time with lots of different activities. I am always trying to help people and do the best to get on well with them.

Some might think I am not very talkative. It depends. Sometimes, even I think that.

Now, when I am finished with studies I have "semi-temporarily" moved to Salzburg, where I work as a software developer for one of the best employers on Earth.

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

Because I like to travel.
Because I don't like to travel the conventional way.
Because I want to get to know and experience.

Also we experience so far is only positive. In Netherlands, I started my CS . Next summer I surfed some couches in Greece. However, since then I somehow got used to sleeping in a tent, I mean in the wild, not city obviously =D

Intereses

Here is a couple of things I really love to do ...

Sport
I really enjoy anything that involves movement. Currently, I am keen on skiing, mountain-biking, swimming & I love trekking, mountains are another home for me.

Photography
I am lucky to posses a camera that helps me capture the most beautiful moments of my life. I am very keen on landscape photography, mountains especially =)

Music
I play the violin and the guitar. What I really enjoy is to get together with my friends (and our guitars) and play and sing, sometimes for even couple of hours. Sadly, I must admit, I don't do it often enough. An another thing I love to spend my money on are concerts (classical or rock) or theatre.

Música, películas y libros

Generally, I asses movies by the feeling I get afterwards. Did it leave me thinking? Did I absorb the atmosphere? What did I learned? Am I shocked?
This involves Inception, Shawshank Redemption, Green mile, Schindlers List, Godfather, ...

My music taste is a bit more profiled. From the "main stream" like U2, Pink Floyd, REM, Bruce Springsteen, RHCP, John Mayer, Mark Knopfler, ZAZ. From the less known I love Kaleo, Sóley, Low Roar, Shai Maestro, Avishai Kohen, Guillaume Perret, Ásgeir, Bokka, ... I am not keen on pop music, RnB, techno, ...

Books - sadly I must admit that I *was* good reader, I am not one anymore.

Its hard to say. I always love to speak about my last travel, as all of them seem amazing to me.

However, probably the best decision (thus thing also) I made so far was to go on exchange study in Iceland. In the beginning, planning to stay for one semester, but in the end stayed three. I so much fell in love with the country. The emptiness, wilderness, openness. It's vast, beautiful, harsch, warm or cold. It's everything you want it to be. As all other countries. Whatsmore, I made me realize lots of things about myself, my expectations, possibilities we have today. It simply changed me a lot.

Enseña, aprende, comparte

When I was younger, I was being raised with music in mind. Later on, I devoted a lot of time to sports. Now, I am spending days with IT. I can surely try to teach you any of these. Or Czech if you like ;)
