About Me

Always up for a new adventure!
I enjoy spending quality time with friends, whether that means snuggling on the couch and knitting hats in the winter, or strolling through the city when the weather is nice. My favourite nights are nights that end with us laughing so hard that we're crying, usually into our grilled cheeses. I love a good grilled cheese. Also wine. I like wine.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think it's a great way to meet people and explore a new city like a local.

Interests

I love to read and write when I want quiet down time, but also have an embarrassingly wide knowledge on a lot of television shows and movies.
I love being in or near the water - swimming in lakes, scuba diving, walking by the ocean, drinking by the river...
I am a terrible artist but I love experiencing other people's art, whether in a big museum, or a little gallery, or in a garage somewhere.
I'm most interested in finding new ways to surprise myself!

Music, Movies, and Books

Satire, deadpan, memoirs, my friends' music

When I travel, I like to read books that take place in that place - it connects me that much more to both the story and the land.

Skinny Legs and All by Tom Robbins is an all time favourite.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Watched the moon rise over the Pacific Ocean while camping on Fraser Island in Queensland, Australia

Watched the sun rise over the Dead Sea after hiking up Masada at 5 am

Heard a whale sing while scuba diving on the Great Barrier Reef

I suppose that's three things, but there's no such thing as TOO many amazing things!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach some mean vegetarian cooking (though currently not in my own kitchen), as well as some basic knitting skills, and some yoga, too. And how to say the alphabet backwards under 5 seconds.

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Austria, Colombia, Cuba, Czech Republic, England, France, Germany, Israel, Italy, Mexico, Morocco, Netherlands, Poland, South Africa, Turkey

Countries I’ve Lived In

Canada, Spain
