About Me

I've lived in Canada the past 20 years, here in Vancouver or Burnaby, but I'm originally from Poland. I grew up on two continents, being lucky enough to spend many summers back in Poland with my extended family or having them visit me in the summers. I was never really into traveling until after I finished university, now I have many travel goals I hope to fulfill in the next few years.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to meet people who are able to show me around their cities, share some insider pointers about the places to see, eat at, hang out in that I might not find in guidebooks. I want to meet people from different backgrounds and cultures to learn more about the world we live in. While also meeting people who share some of my interests listed below.

Interests

A lot of my activities tie in with my love for travel. I enjoy cooking and make food a priority on my travels, making sure I eat as much of the local cuisine as possible. It's great inspiration for what I cook when I'm back home. I enjoy photography and have recently started to look into videography. Hope to start making some movies of my trips in the near future. In 2015 I got my motorcycle license and now love going on road trips. I want to spend more time hiking, camping and enjoying the outdoors in the next few years. I'm also big into attending sport events; I've been to the summer and winter Olympics, Euro's, most of the major sports leagues in North America, watched baseball in Cuba, soccer in Mexico and much more. Still want to see a tennis grand slam and hope to make it to one in 2017, attend the World Cup and Copa America some day, and possibly see some of the major sports in Australia and New Zealand. As for something a little different, I'm very into documentaries on many different topics, especially ones travel focused or on a topic from a specific location.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In 2015 I went on a 3 day jungle trek in Costa Rica where I got to see more animals in the wild than I would be able to in my local zoo. To see them in their natural habitat brings a completely new perspective, something you can't get through watching Planet Earth.

Teach, Learn, Share

I've been cooking for almost half my life and don't mind either cooking for folks or teaching them how to. I'm into bread baking lately, still very new to the art but can make a pretty decent loaf and there's nothing better than freshly baked bread.
