About Me

*Hosting conditionally - check me up if I am in Kraków at the moment*

Before sending me a request read my profile carefully and check out "my home" section.

A Polish chap stuck somewhere between graduating and starting independent career with a considerable travelling experience. My great dream was to go to New Zealand, the place where LOTR films were born. I saved some money, bought tickets and now flew to the land of Kiwis and Maori people. I hitchhiked, free camped, and couchsurfed all the time. I proved my friends that you can have a lot of great adventures without loads of money. I came back, enrolled to a university in Kraków and tried to settle down. It took me a year to leave again - I went for a student Exchange to Dublin. I spent a beautiful time in there. Then came France, Georgia, Krakow again, Warsaw, Germany and Kraków again.

I consider myself to a tolerant and open-minded guy whose basic life value is the right to err and learn, fail and improve. I am a sociable, easy going and understanding person. I used to be a good speaker - now I am learning to be a better listener. Travelling is a great opportunity for doing that!

Life mission: do no evil, connect people, traverse slopes of reality. Fight with fanatics, stir discussions, undermine dogmas. Climb mountains, sweat, watch sunsets. Live.

MY CS EXPERIENCE: I've been in New Zealand since October 2015 and couchsurfed several times - I experienced a real Kiwis' hospitality! When I am hitchhiking many people offer me a place to stay. Unfortunately, I don't use the website very often - my hosts usually don't have an account! I hosted dozens of friends and friends of my friends, also some strangers in need, coming from various FB groups for travellers. I hosted in Warsaw, Kraków, and Tbilisi. I couchsurfed anywhere else (look at the list of countries).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

The better question would be: why isn't everyone a couchsurfing.org member ?!

I believe that every human being can do some positive change to make our planet a better place to live.
I believe in sharing things and knowledge I have to those who don't.
I believe in voluntary helping without expecting to be paid back.
Finally, I believe in hospitality which for me is showing the better side of our nature to the strangers.

I am a crazy fan of sharing economy and consider to be a humanist - sharing what I can share is my duty and I am happy about it!
I want to meet new people, learn from them and hear their stories, practice language and live the life of natives :) There is no better way of learning about the place than living the life of locals.

Talking to the locals allows me to look at the World through their eyes.
Language practice is also a good reason for that.

I am not the 'wiredo' type of couchsurfer, I won't ask you to go around naked or share the bed with me (it happens at this website, lol). I do not use CS as a substitute for Tinder.

Interests

There are a lot of things I have tried and more to be tried.
I am a passionate hiker, I do music (guitar - ethno blues), I climb.
I have a great bunch of friends who help me organize concerts, shows and festivals - this occupies a lot of our weekends and most of summer. We roam around the country volunteering for music, cinema, theatre and other festivals. Seriously!

I'm just curious about life which makes me the guy who tries and gives up.I rode a motorcycle, painted, wrote poems and press articles, skied, Jesus Christ. Now I realized how many activities I have tried.

I constantly develop my photography skills - half of my luggage is usually photographic equipment :) I am intrested in cultural processes taking place on our planet - I try to be a good citizen of the world with the ability to understand what is going on.

Music, Movies, and Books

On my Spotify playlists you will see a lot of ethnic music, folk from all around the world, all varieties of electronic music, vestiges of my old love - death metal.
Balkan brass, psy trance, doom metal, modern classical music. Bregovic, Meshuggah, Paderewski, Dubliners, Wardruna, Apex Twin, Kapela ze Wsi Warszawa. Eclectic, I know.

Well, I love organizing concerts so there are few genres I haven't tried, and a lot I do enjoy.
What I read? World classics, fantasy, non-fiction. Kapuściński, Pratchett, Sapkowski, Camus, to name a few.
Favourite movies? Don't have any.
Favourite PC game: S.T.A.L.K.E.R Clear Sky

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Amazing? What does 'amazing' mean?
But there are some little things I consider to be more amazing :), like...

Sleeping in a cave in the Polish mountains in December, listening to the sound of silence.
Organizing the craziest music festival in Poland where you need to hike if you wanna participate.
Interviewing Afghan and Syrian refugees in Moria, Lesbos.
Driving 1000 km to see the sunset in Croatia and going back the next day.
Hitchhiking 25.000 kms in Australia, spending 0 dolars and surviving sleeping in a tent in the middle of the Outback.
Being Polish and playing Scottish songs on Filipino ukulele in Irish pub with French people. Audience was partly foreign, too!

Teach, Learn, Share

We can discuss marketing, international politics and Eastern European affairs.
I would love to hang out with someone who climbes, hikes or does something like that.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can offer you help with the home stuff - I can cook, I have good manual skills and do not mind crude labor. Gardening? You got it. Cleaning? Give me the vacuum cleaner.
There are hundreds of stories I can share, good knowledge of the Eastern Europe, political insight, activist exprience.
