Overview
About Me
I'm a man of a simple taste, fresh air, good food and a good company makes pretty much all I need. Always curious about new things and looking for fresh ways how to walk in this world.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
When hitchhiking on my travels I realised I like the best to meet and talk to people I would otherwise never met. To talk openly about our ideas and to tell stories we would otherwise not hear. Couchsurfing is a little tamed sort of hitchhiking but the principle stays the same. The chance of meeting people and to share as much as possible in a limited time is the same. Life is quite short and better to live it at it's best!
Interests
I'm a child of nature, virtually any activity made outdoors will attract my attention. I worked three years as a hiking guide and biking across Europe and it summed up virtually all my interests together. To be active, to enjoy culture, good wine and all this best served in a good company. Always searching to discover new things and to take the roads less travelled.

Music, Movies, and Books
Since I was 17 and attended with my friends Led Zeppelin revival the music of the hippie generation will always cheer me up. If I should choose the best band of all time it would be The Queen. And my favourite radio is FIP. But depending on mood I would listen to pretty much everything. From classical music I would pick up Dvorak and his From new world and all star of jazz is for me Keith Jarret and his concert in Koln.
George Orwell is my favourite author. No other with such a few words tells so much. Though my favourite is his Down and out from Paris to London. Second in row comes Isaac Asimov and pretty much everythig he wrote. From robot series to history books he captivates me by his narrative and unique connections only he is able to make. Third place belongs to my all time favourite voyage of Thor Heyrdal and his Kon Tiki.
There are too many movies nowdays and I'm afraid I'm loosing a track. But for some reason the movie Gladiator is one of my favourites. Austin Powers made me laugh so much and Laurence of Arabie made me to wish to go and discover Sahara.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Life is composed from memories and for me the greatest moments were when I lived fully in harmony with nature. And I lived one of these moments in South island of New Zealand. I was miserably strugling to surf in bitterly cold water and suddendly a little pinguine came out to check out what is going out there. So unpredicted, so true... The moment will stay present in my mind for all my life.
