About Me

Hallo!

-----------
Hello!

My name is Michal. I'm a person living in Prague who likes to learn foreign languages.

I would like to host German native speakers this year as I am preparing for the C1 German exam.

Of course, if you just want to have a coffee/tea, I'm also happy to meet you and take a walk around the town.

See you in Prague!

Top 1 place to see in Prague:

1) 180° entire Prague panorama in Prague 8 district (called White Rock - Bílá Skála) - check the panorama photo in my profile and Wikipedia link below

- come to Palmovka with yellow metro (it is 10 mins from the Prague center)
- take metro exit "Zenklova" once you are at Palmovka
- we can meet in front of the Synagoge (grayish building in the middle of the small park) - it is actually right at the tram stop Palmovka, it is the slightly downhill street, super easy to find, next to book shop "Levne knihy"
- we take the tram for 3 stops to "Bulovka"- 5 mins
- we walk to the panorama place through the hospital area for 10 mins
- the GPS coordinates for the panorama: 50.114821105445664, 14.45513161174969

And of course the list goes on:

2) Petrin hill by funicular rail and the Jesus cross-road + great panorama detour (GPS 50.0856, 14.3910)
3) Old town + Charles Bridge before 10h00 - it will be flooded by tourists afterwards
4) Castle/New World /Lesser Quarter quaint/scenic area + Prague towers (for those rooftops)
5) Prosecke skaly - the Prague Colorado-like rocks
6) Municipal House cafe - touristic, yes, but the most beautiful cafe in Europe (my humble opinion, haha)! But also Cafe Louvre and Cafe Slavia are very nice.
7) Old railway bridge + the cubistic vila + Vysehrad citadel
8) Pankrac - off touristic business disctrict with secret skyscraper panorama in Aureole restaurant
9) Žizkov alley ways, bakeries, cafes... Žizkov TV tower (take elevator to the cafe, no need to pay for special panorama ticket).
10) Botanical garden in Troja (super-green house called Fatamorgana + Japanese garden are breathtaking- spring and autumn are the best times)

Feel free to suggest others or ask me for a showaround! :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Henry Ford quote:

"Anyone who stops learning is old, whether at twenty or eighty.

Anyone who keeps learning stays young.

The greatest thing in life is to keep your mind young."
