About Me

Hello! I'm Michele, a 31yr old female born and raised in Wisconsin . I've been working on boats since I was 19 and I love it. I work much more than is probably healthy but I get to meet amazing people and do some awesome things. I value family, friends, kindness and honesty the most.

As I stated above I work a lot and currently don't have my own place to host but look forward to the day that I can. Until then, if we're in the same city let's grab a drink and explore!

Whenever I see a shooting star I wish to be happy, a simple wish that has so far been coming true.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I like the adventure, meeting new people and hearing their stories.

Interests

So many!!!! In cities I love museums of pretty much any kind, open spaces, theater, dance (watching and doing), good food and drinks.

I also love hiking, biking, camping, bonfires and stars across the entire sky.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music-I love some Billboard top 40, it's good to dance to! I also listen to a lot of indie, Americana, EDM, dubstep, a bit of bluegrass, rock, country, electric violin. Really I'm open to most music except screaming heavy metal type, it gives me a headache.
Movies-My favorite two genres are action and Disney/Pixar. I know they don't really mesh that well but it's what I like. Also a good mix of indie films and documentaries even if they are very one sided.
Books-Neil Gaiman and Christopher Moore are two of my favorite authors. The Wave, about mega 50ft plus waves; In the Heart of the Sea, about the whale ship Essex; A Walk in the Woods by Bill Bryson. I've read all of the LTR, the Hobbit, Harry Potter, Hunger Games. I'm always open for more suggestions.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Sailed across the Atlantic on a brigantine teaching and working with a great group of college students.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you knots and a bit about the stars. I'm willing to learn about pretty much anything. I can share my baking skills and a song or two on the ukulele.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Stories about working on the water and growing up on a hobby farm. I can share a few songs on my ukulele but be forewarned I sing along. And I can make a mean carrot cake and a chocolate bourbon cupcake with maple frosting.

Countries I’ve Visited

American Samoa, Antigua and Barbuda, Canada, Dominica, French Polynesia, Italy, Mexico, New Caledonia, New Zealand, Saint Martin (French part), Samoa

Countries I’ve Lived In
