About Me
Hello, I'm Michele but I like to go by Meesh. I'm friendly, open-minded and love to hear about other people's life experiences. I will be backpacking Europe in August and September 2015 and hope to meet with others and have a good time together.
I approach life with the idea that I should try anything and everything at least once whether that pertains to food, experiences, etc. because you never know if you'll like it or not without trying it first.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I don't want to travel like a tourist only gawking at attractions and taking pictures to add to photo albums I may look back at once in a blue moon. Instead, I want to truly experience and immerse myself into the different cultures and places I visit. I've heard Couchsurfing is a great way to do this from friends who have done it because I have not done it yet.
Since I'm new to couchsurfing and never done it before please check out my social media accounts to get a better idea of who I am:

Interests
I'm interested in traveling, reading, trying new things and meeting new people. I've been lucky to have been raised by parents who love to travel and take their kids with them. I'm just starting to do more traveling solo and hope to experience even more through this alternative style of travel through this community.
I'm also a big DIYer (do it yourself) and share it on my blog . I share projects, my style and weekend travels and adventures on there.

Music, Movies, and Books
My favorite music, movie and book constantly change as I discover new music, watch new movies and read new books.
I can say my favorite book from my childhood is Ella Enchanted, while my current favorite author now is Janet Evanovich. I love to read books that make me laugh and hers definitely do.
My current favorite genre of movies is comedy. I think life can be very heavy and full of worries, so I tend to gravitate toward funny movies and tv shows.
I like a wide rang of music ranging from the mellow Ben Howard to the catchy spanish songs by Juanes. I'm always interested in discovering new artists and genres of music.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I'm not sure if I've ever done anything truly amazing that's relevant to a community all about traveling and cultural exchange. I'm hoping to change that once I start my backpacking trip later in 2015. Hopefully the couchsurfing community will place a big part in making that amazing for me!
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm currently learning Spanish and would love a chance to practice it. I can try to help improve anyone's English and teach you American and Californian slang. I can also teach some Vietnamese if you're interested. I'd love to share a good meal and story with anyone who is willing.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can offer cultural, culinary and language exchanges. The United States is a large country with a different culture in each state. I'm also a product of immigrant parents so I have a combination of American and Vietnamese cultures to share.
