About Me

CURRENT MISSION

See whether I can both work hard and meet a lot of great people this fall

ABOUT ME

I love traveling and talking. I hope I will do much more of both in the future. I am always in for a nice conversation and a laugh. Couchsurfing has been great so far, sucks I could not host in the past few months, I hope things will change soon.

PHILOSOPHY

Not sure this belongs here, but I thought I could just throw in the link to my blog

Please leave any comments you'd like!
I also use twitter but very little. My twitter name is michelebattisti
I promise you will not be overwhelmed by messages if you "follow" me.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

So far, I have mostly hosted. I hope I will have a chance in the future to work more for the community and make CS even better than it is. I am trying to promote what CSing is about (sharing: places, experiences, ideas), and try to do my part in keeping the original ideas around CS even now and in the future where there will be more and more CSers.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far I have mostly hosted through CS here in Vancouver. It's been great so far, and a little addictive (I will have to slow down in the spring).
I have been a guest a couple of times in Portland and Seattle, and it's been great. And soon I will be couchsurfing in Korea and Thailand.

Interests

Just brainstorming really: living in different places (I like that much more than 10-countries-in-10-days type traveling), reading, sitting and talking (in person of course!), hiking, sport (basketball, volleyball, squash, but I am bad at all of them by now, hope to get back), coffee, taking trains, sitting and talking, playing an instrument very well (sorry, this should have gone into the "dreams" part), watching movies, biking (hoping to do a lot more of it) sitting and talking (I know I said that before, but I like a lot of it).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

visited 30 states (13.3%)Create your own visited map of The World or website vertaling duits?

Teach, Learn, Share

The best thing about CS is that it uses the internet as a tool and not as a goal (as FB tends to generate for example). The website is amazing but I feel that the real thing is meeting people and share things with them in person, rather than wasting their time teaching and learning while typing on their keyboard...
