About Me
CURRENT MISSION
See the world! All of it.
ABOUT ME
Mathematician/programmer from the SF Bay Area, living in Seattle. Cal Poly SLO alum. I love to travel, meet new people, experience different cultures, and have adventures, and I want to do that in as many places as humanly possible!
I'm half Korean, half Welsh, and 100% Californian. I wear glasses because the one inch radius in front of my face isn't really a sufficient range of sight. I overuse the words "like" and "hella." I can eat spicier food than most people, excluding (maybe) people without tastebuds. I just moved back to the US from Germany, so I'm adjusting (slowly) back to speaking English. I'm an olympic gold medalist in saying ridiculous things too loudly. I'm somewhat impulsive, but always in the interest of having fun.
Basically I'm just another one of the billions of people in the world, trying to make the most of my youth and lucky enough to be able to do so.
PHILOSOPHY
"Life is too important to be taken seriously." - Oscar Wilde
Interests
I am easily amused, so I have many interests. In fact, I can't really think of anything I don't find interesting in some way. I'll update this if I ever think of something that doesn't interest me at all.

Music, Movies, and Books
Books: I will read practically anything written in the 19th century with completely authentic enthusiasm.
Currently reading: Moby Dick
Music: The music I like to listen to and the music I like to dance to are contained in disjoint sets.
Films: I rarely watch movies, but when I do, I never remember quotes from them. For example, I've seen Pulp Fiction at least 20 times and I cannot quote a single line from that movie accurately. So please don't quote a line from a movie and expect me to get what you're referring to, it'll just be awkward.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Going to a night market in downtown Seoul. I think the Koreans are trying to take all of the world's supply of neon and put it on their buildings downtown while feeding everyone kimchi. I don't object to this.
Survived a hailstorm and had an apathetic buffalo stare at me in Yellowstone Nat'l park.
Walking along the East Side Gallery in Berlin through a foot of snow while drinking Eierpunsch.
The view of San Francisco from Treasure Island on a clear night.
Teach, Learn, Share
Since I know how much everyone loves math, I vow to talk nonstop about math the entire time I Couchsurf. In both English and German. I will switch languages at random, to keep everyone on their toes.
My brain is a vast, yet ever-expanding reserve of random facts and useless trivia. In my opinion, the more sentences started with the phrase "Did you know," the better a conversation is.
I also know how to make kimchi!
