Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to travel and to see new places. I'm also a believer in the value of public service and have chosen to dedicate my life to the public interest. While that may mean a high level of job satisfaction and the reward of knowing that I have contributed to making the world a better place, that also means I'm broke.

Interests

I have a lot of interests. I love theater, acting, cosplay, anime, UFC, science fiction, and reading, just to name a few. I am gluten free, but I looove food. I am a complete dog person, but I have to admit my favorite pet was a cat. I guess my biggest interest is developing new interests and growing the ones I've got.

Music, Movies, and Books

With music, I am all over the place. I love bluegrass, soul, grunge, 90's rap, classic jazz, Celtic, swing, big band, and classic rock. My favorite movies are A.I., Imitation of Life, The Shining, Night of the Living Dead, and Meet the Robinson's. While I have a lot of contenders for the spot of favorite for music and movies, the Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks is my clear favorite of books.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I continue to hold onto my compassion for others despite being surrounded by the darkest aspects of human nature. It sounds small, but trust me it takes a lot of work.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am interested in sharing my culture and connecting with other cultures. I am a creole Nigerian American who desires to be more connected with my Nigerian roots. I have previously hosted foreign exchange student, and I have learned that there is no such thing as "knowing a culture."
