About Me

I was born in South Africa and grew up in LA. I moved to Raleigh, North Carolina when I was 14. I went to high school and college in Raleigh, so to me it's home. I recently moved to Redding, CA to continue my education. I currently live with a family, and I am unable to offer my house to follow surfers. I would love to offer my house someday in the future when I am more established.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm couchsurfing to find a cool place to stay while I travel. I love meeting the locals of a city and getting to see the city through their perspective. I have often found that when I have traveled this way not only do I get a genuine experience, but I also fall in love with that cities way of life.

Interests

I love to adventure, although sometimes my friends might have to convince me to do crazy things, they always end up being my favorite memories. I am never afraid of a real conversation. I like the authenticity of vulnerability and the space it creates for others to be honest and real. You will usually find me listening to music and dancing to my beat no matter the time of day. I live for the raw messy moments in life rather then the picture perfect ideas in which many idealize. I think you miss out on too much that life has to offer if you don't dare to live in the moment.

Music, Movies, and Books

I am a sucker for a cheesy lame movie, so I won't list my favorites. However I do love the classics, thrillers, and of course anything that makes me laugh. I also love music of all genres and am often searching for new beats, so maybe we could swap mix CDs.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I would say that the thing that has impacted my life is learning how to love people for who they are and where they are at. I volunteered at this community city in the inner city urban area. Here is where I learned the power of love. A lot of the people I encountered lived below the poverty line, and had very little. However the hope and joy they got out of life inspired me to love more extravagantly than ever before. I feel very blessed to be the person I am today and I never take that for granted. I am thankful for where life has brought me.
