About Me

Hi there, I'm Michelle and I'm a graduate student studying Developmental Psychology at the University of Waterloo. I love traveling, going on adventures, and trying new foods. Life on earth may be short, but it's meant to be explored and appreciated!

Currently, I do not have a couch to offer at my student residence -- sorry! One day, when I have my own place, I will definitely return the favour. :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Travelling is all about immersing yourself in the culture and meeting new people from it -- what better way to achieve that than through staying with a local!

Though I am introverted/quiet/sometimes shy, I like to challenge myself to meet new people, explore the unknown, and constantly learn. People and cultures fascinate me (hence why I am in psychology) and I really love finding the commonalities between all individuals -- we are all human, beautifully flawed, constantly growing, and capable of loving others, no matter our circumstances, upbringings, and cultures.

I fell in love with traveling in 2015 when I went on an academic exchange to London (UK) -- I studied at UCL for 4 months. I travelled to 10 countries and saw things I have only ever dreamt of. But most of all, my favourite part about travelling was DEFINITELY the people. Even more than the gorgeous sights and delicious foods. I can honestly say I've established lifelong friendships with those I can call my family. I feel so incredibly blessed for these opportunities.

A phrase I live by: "The happiness of pursuit" -- not "The pursuit of happiness" :)
