ABOUT ME

People have told me I'm a nice, outgoing person and I think I have to agree with that ;) I like meeting new people and getting to know where they're from, what they do and why they're at place of destination! Don't let my age fool you, I love learning new things and am open to new points of view. I grew up in several places and am therefore rather internationally orientated. Also I've visited a lot more countries than is stated here (most of Europe, South Africa, etc) but I haven't had time yet to update it! Will follow shortly

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

When I'm working, I open up my couch for people who want to discover my city and who are looking for a local to help them around. If you want to stay over on my couch, please know that I am not the one to show you around for the best party/smoke places, as I am more the bar-hopping/going for a beer-kind of person. If you´re visiting the city to get to know the local culture, nice food places, history, etc. I can definitely help you out :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My first couch surfing experience I had was with a friend and our host was very friendly. I've surfed a few more times afterwards and hosted some imcredible people, in all cases creating amazing memories :) The cool thing is that I am still talking to some of them and that we continue to share our experiences, even though we are not in the same country!

On a side note, I kindly ask you to write a personal message, showing that you have read my profile. Amsterdam is a popular city and I get lots of requests from people who don´t care where they are staying, as long as they can go party and visit coffee shops, and hopefully it is clear that I am not that kind of address. I appreciate the interest shown in a host.

Music, Movies, and Books

Films I like (though this list is definitely not exhausted!): Changeling, Dr Zhivago, Desert Flower, Les misérables, Brothers, Before Sunset/Sunrise/Midnight (though the first and last ones were my favourites), the Danish Girl, Ray. If you have any other ones, I am open for suggestions!

I've also read a lot of books but prefer the historic novels such as Pillars of the Earth, New York, Love in Times of Cholera and Wild Swans: 3 daughters of China. 1984 and Animal Farm on the other hand also interested me a lot!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Mmm only one! I have done quite some amazing stuff!

I'm currently traveling through central and South America and so far, I have enjoyed almost every single moment. Certainly it will certainly lead to innumerable memories!

Also, 2 years ago I couchsurfed my way past the US East coast by myself, a trip on which I met the most amazing people who showed me their cities from their perspective, that's something I will never forget :)

Teach, Learn, Share

Despite the fact that we all look alike, we are different. That is why it is so interesting to talk and exchange thoughts, experiences and philosophies. It's all about the right approach and if you are open to change and differences, you will have great times travelling.
