I'm an easy going lady who loves to travel and is awful at writing "About Me" synopses (so please don't judge!). I am fortunate enough to travel regularly for both work and pleasure. I am a researcher who is currently working on her PhD living in Hawaii. When I'm not working or travelling (which is fairly rare), I play roller derby, hike, camp, and work on the "million and one" projects on my property. I can't get enough of animals and playing in the dirt.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Well....at the risk of sounding cliché, I'd like to be able to meet people and make friends all around the world. I've managed Air BnB's at my former residence and have been a guest for several years now. Staying with people at their homes has been the best experience during my travels. Now that I have my own house would like to host travelers and I know for many of us, it can be difficult to come up with the money to make it happen. I like the idea of "give and take" that couchsurfing has to offer. Experiencing different places and cultures is invaluable to personal growth, understanding, and compassion and I'd like to continue my worldly education while supporting others in theirs.

Books - Mostly fiction (it's like brain candy) since I read too much sciency stuff for work/studies. Love crime novels, fantasy, sci-fi, mystery, horror
Movies - Mostly anything but "chick flicks" (though there are some exceptions). Love Sci-fi, horror, mystery, fantasy, animation, documentaries, true-story-stuff...
