Delving into developing skills - mostly focusing on natural building; timber framing; plants as food, medicine, and friends; felting hats and doo-dads; experimenting with natural dyes for wool and as paints.
Interested in decolonization and working towards a more just world -- through action and play. authentic relationships. and profound silliness!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To host when I can - and pay forward some of the incredible kindness I've received while traveling. To get to know beautiful diverse people all over the place. To continue to expand my understanding and bewilderment at the depth and breadth of life!
Interests
Queerness, magic, Intentional communities, decolonization, dismantling white supremacy, community self-reliance, collective grief work, natural building, DIY/Do it ourselves, dumpster diving
Music, Movies, and Books
Music: Funky, Bluesy, Groovy, experimental and/or unique, I like Hiatus Kaiyote, Tank and the Bangas, Esperanza Spalding, Moondog, Taj Mahal Trio, Fiona Apple
Movies:I live under a bit of a rock in the movie world tbh! I like artsy fartsy films and documentaries, and movies that surprise me or make me feel strange- Tan Popo, most things by Alejandro Jodorowsky
Books: Some recent faves: Emergent Strategy, Rebellious Mourning, Foucault's Pendulum, anything by Ursula Le Guin! I like weird comic books too.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I love to share the very accessible craft of felting tiny monsters! If I'm with you for a bit we could even make hats or gloves. I can teach you how to make a bow-drill fire and share wildcrafted herbal salves and medicines. I'm an excellent sweeper and dish-doer! I am very mindful of the space I take up and easy to please. Down for spontaneous dancing and singing, and can teach you lots of songs!
