Pay attention to as many people's stories as you can. There is wisdom sitting in Greyhound buses, at the grocery store check out line, and all around you. If someone is willing to talk, be willing to listen.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Surf's up, Dude! I live with my boyfriend (an elementary school music teacher) and a red cat named Lobster. To all the surfers looking to stay at my house, you'll be with a cool cat and a tall dude in addition to me. Also looking to do most of my travels with the boyfriend.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

From 2006-2008 I used Couchsurfing a great deal. I went to the West Coast, "found myself" and met some awesome people in the process. I used to have a solid profile on here with friends and positive ratings, but I took a long hiatus and can't get back to my old page.

As pictured in my profile photos, I have met John Waters a few times in the mean Baltimore streets and he is as fabulous in person as his movies are on screen.

I love Nora Ephron-her movies and books. "You've Got Mail", "Sleepless in Seattle", etc. Also love "Never Been Kissed", "Empire Records", "Blue Velvet", "Dirty Dancing", "She's All That" and the HBO Series "6 Feet Under".

David Sedaris-anything he has ever written. Totally dig art books and adore Andy Warhol. I enjoy sociology and biographies. Erma Bombeck rules. Cassie J. Sneider's "Fine Fine Music", Nicole J. Georges, zines, chapbooks, etc.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I self-published a book called "Junk Drunk" in 2012 and am currently working on a new one called "Hair on Soap". I have met some dream people in the process and started the "Projection Speaker Series" in Baltimore: Basically I had an overhead projector, an art space, and a lot of people with something to say.

Teach, Learn, Share

People who have a positive outlook are the best. But then again, I was pretty into MTV's "Daria" series, so I can also deal with sarcastic people who look at life in a darkly humorous way.
