Overview
About Me
Hellooo. I’m a curious, independent and easygoing person who enjoys meaningful conversation, taking photos when there’s captivating light or color, getting coffee/tea at a quaint shop and petting cats or dogs.
I am a Chinese American who grew up in Tennessee. The best qualities of my home state in my opinion are the cuisine, music and nature. Some of my cherished memories when living there were eating greasy breakfast food at old-fashioned diners, attending live bluegrass music gatherings and taking day hikes through the mountains during summer or fall time.
I now live and work in Brooklyn, NY as a freelance videographer and video editor for nonprofits, small businesses and tech startups. I’m passionate about films that make the mundane and trivial feel special and nuanced. Eventually I hope to write and direct a fiction short film or edit a feature length documentary.
In my free time I enjoy long hangouts with friends, taking walks in nature, going to art museums and dj shows, rock climbing and watching movies at my local indie theater.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Meeting new people in new country can be a special and exhilarating experience for me. In my past solo travel experiences I’ve walked away with wonderful memories with wonderful people and it’s what keeps me coming back to traveling.

Music, Movies, and Books
I spent all of 2024 getting into DJing as a hobby so I’ve spent a lot of time exploring all the sub genres of EDM like hyperpop, uk garage, house, techno, but some of my longtime favorite genres are indie bedroom pop and American folk.
I’m a huge fan of coming-of-age movies and adult animated comedy TV shows. Some of my all time favorite shows are Bojack Horseman, King of the Hill and Beef. A few of my recent favorite films are Tangerine by Sean Baker, The Worst Person in the World by Joachim Trier and Yi Yi by Edward Yang. A TV show I’ve been wanting to get into is White Lotus.
I’m not a big reader, but I’m halfway through All Fours by Miranda July and it’s pretty damn funny and relatable.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Traveling to India solo for 3 weeks during my last year in college!
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you about photography/filmmaking/djing or make you some good, southern cheesy jalapeño cornbread.
In return I would love to learn/practice Chinese!
