About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Becoming a doctor

ABOUT ME

I am always trying to make my life as exciting as possible and interested in trying new things, seeing the world.

PHILOSOPHY

Life is a challenge and an opportunity, an adventure. It is for getting achievements, enjoying and experiencing. Try to make the most out of it, set yourself life targets and try hard to achieve all of them.
One day, when I am old, when I take a look back on how I have spent my life, I do not want to regret not having done anything I always wanted to do.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

So far I was almost only surfing because I was cycling around the world and needed hosts who help me.
But now I completed my journey and as soon as I have my own apartment I definitely will host people to pay back all the hospitality I have received and because I cant wait to meet foreigners and give travelers a good impression of my beloved hometown.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Without Couch Surfing traveling would not be the same. I get in contact with locals which are automatically my friend and guide in the city I am staying and that is awesome. I became real friends with some of my hosts, most of them were incredibly hospitable people and with many of them I had special and unique experiences. If you wanna know it more specificly read the references I left my hosts.
I never had any bad experiences.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Attended an Iranian wedding - and entered the female-guests-only hall.

Drove a Pakistani police car.

Cycled through Death Valley in July. People could not believe their eyes when they saw me cycling in North Americas hottest and driest place and gave me cold water bottles out of their car windows.

Cycled on my own through the dangerous desert of
Baluchistan after my Pakistani bodyguards from the police had left me alone.

Crossed the Karakorum Highway from Pakistan over the Himalaya to China. Under great time pressure to reach the Pakistani/Chinese border before it closed. In winter, on bicycle with a horrible cold and food poisoning.

Cycled through the Takla Makan desert in winter, where there was nothing but snow for hundreds of kilometers. Camped there at minus 22° C using two sleeping bags at the same time to fight the cold. Everything I wanted to eat in the next morning I had to put with me in my sleeping bags so it did not freeze to ice during the night. Result was I shared my sleeping bag with sausages and bread.

Gave Iranian students an English class, then had to write them autographs and take photos with them. Same happened in Colombia and China.

Got spontaneously invited by strangers to their homes countless times, more often than I did couchsurfing!

Been to Iran, a country having the image of being hostile and dangerous turned out to be a genuinely beautiful place with the nicest people I have ever seen.

Had an interview in Pakistani national TV news.

Got invited to the German embassy in Islamabad during christmas time. The people in Pakistan did not even know that it was christmas, but in the embassy I could feel some christmas atmosphere when they gave me German christmas food and German beer.

Ate through the weirdest dishes in China: Boiled sheep brain and eyeballs directly out of the skull, dog meat, silk worms, scorpions, sheep penis and testicles, goat testicles... and bulls balls in Nicaragua.

Made it through the processes of acquiring visa for Iran, Pakistan and China without freaking out insanely and/or shooting myself in the face. Watch this if you want to know what it was like: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GI5kwSap9Ug

Was surprised unpleasantly in the night by rednecks in Brazil who were afraid of me because I was camping on their acre so they gathered an armed mob of men from the whole village, dazzled me with their torches and yelled at me in Portuguese. Finally they fired a gun into the air and scared me to death, only to confirm in the end that I was simply trying to sleep there...

Was treated like a popstar in a Colombian christian girls school. The girls were screaming for me and making queues for a picture with me.

Climbed the 6088 m high Huayna Potosi and reached my limit walking on a narrow mountain ridge with deadly abysses on both its sides. Gave up out of fear just a few meters before the summit.

Got sexually harrassed by old Colombian ladies.

Was detained at Novosibirsk airport because of an allegedly invalid passport, and threatened to be detained in the Terminal for 3 days (Like in the movie "The Terminal") until they could deport me to the Schengen area.

Tavelling around the world on bicycle is the geratest experience I have ever had. Everyday was a challenge and I saw and experienced new things all the time.
